Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix Demand Trial In Legal Battle Over Their House
Ariana Madix, 38, filed a lawsuit earlier this year against her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval, 40, seeking to force the sale of their $2 million Los Angeles home. According to court documents exclusively obtained by The U.S. Sun, the Vanderpump Rules stars remain embroiled in a prolonged legal dispute, with neither party showing signs of backing down.
On May 17, Ariana and Tom submitted separate case management statements ahead of their scheduled June conference. Both filings indicate a request for a nonjury trial, estimating that the court proceedings would take one to two days.
Ariana reiterated in her statement that “discord exists” between them, negatively impacting her ownership and enjoyment of the property. The “Single AF Cocktails” author also revealed her intention to file a motion for summary interlocutory judgment, aiming to resolve the dispute before trial. She mentioned the possibility of filing motions to compel Tom’s responses for written discovery, which he agreed to submit, along with depositions, by December 10, 2024.
Tom acknowledged the existing “discord” and informed the court that he is “seeking an accounting” before any sale or purchase of Ariana’s interest in the property. Despite their disagreements, the ex-couple has “met and conferred,” though the details of their discussions remain unclear.
No mediation or settlement conference has been scheduled yet. Ariana has asked the court to determine the equitable allocation of sale proceeds from a partition by sale, as well as the payment of associated debts, including attorney’s fees and title expenses. In response, Tom filed on February 23, arguing against the partition by sale and claiming that Ariana “did not act reasonably and in good faith” when filing the lawsuit.
Tom previously expressed a desire for a “reasonable agreement” and hoped they could “figure it out without any kind of judgment.” During the VPR After Show, he mentioned that he had “paid the bills for the house for the past nine months” and criticized Ariana for not participating in household chores. Ariana countered, stating she had “paid for the majority of stuff” in the house and had an interior designer, Lucinda Pace, help calculate the value of each item.
During the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 reunion, Ariana refrained from discussing their court battle due to legal constraints. Shortly after taking legal action, Ariana purchased a new three-bedroom, two-bath mansion for $1.6 million, located just over six miles from her former shared home with Tom.
