Porsha Williams is taking legal action to continue her role on the Real Housewives of Atlanta by seeking permission to film inside the marital residence she previously shared with her estranged husband, Simon Guobadia.

According to documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, Porsha has filed an emergency order to film within the mansion, arguing that access to the property for filming is essential for maintaining her livelihood. She stated that being able to capture her day-to-day life at the mansion is “vital to her ability to sustain her income and employment,” emphasizing the importance of the residence as a backdrop for her role on the reality show.

Porsha was granted “sole, exclusive use” of the marital residence she shared with Simon Guobadia last month, as reported by this outlet. The court’s decision allowed her the freedom to use the property as she sees fit, including for filming and production purposes for Real Housewives of Atlanta.

However, the situation took a contentious turn when Simon’s legal team responded firmly, urging the court to refrain from making decisions regarding the filming at the house. This legal pushback from Simon’s side has created complications for the production of RHOA, potentially impacting Porsha’s ability to film in her own home.

In her emergency order dated May 20, Porsha forcefully argued against her estranged husband Simon’s efforts to block her from filming at their marital residence. She contended that there is no logical or rational basis for his actions, suggesting instead that they are retaliatory measures aimed at hampering her financial independence and career growth.

“There is no logical or rational reason as to why Husband now seeks to prohibit Wife from filming at the marital residence, other than in an attempt to retaliate against Wife and intentionally restrict her ability to earn a living and expand her career,” Porsha stated in the documents.

Furthermore, Porsha highlighted Simon’s “aggressively litigious behavior,” noting that his actions have involved dragging both the reality show and its production company, Truly Original Production, into their ongoing legal disputes. This situation has led the production company to inform her that they “will not proceed with filming Wife.” This decision poses a significant threat to her ability to successfully return to “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” directly impacting her career and earnings potential amidst their legal battles.

Porsha argues that Simon Guobadia’s efforts to prevent her from filming inside their marital home are purely to avoid exposing sensitive or personal information about himself. In her legal filings, Porsha asserts that she has proactively offered to avoid filming in areas of the house particularly personal to Simon, such as his bathroom, closet, and office, in hopes of reaching a compromise. Despite these assurances, Simon remains unyielding in his stance.

Porsha expresses in her filings that being barred from filming her daily life within the home, to which she has exclusive rights, is unreasonable and unjust. She emphasizes that such restrictions not only hinder her financial opportunities but also obstruct her from providing an authentic portrayal of her lifestyle, which is crucial for her role and success as a reality TV star.

“To prevent Wife from filming her day-to-day activities and lifestyle in the residence to which she has exclusive possession, use, and occupancy is neither reasonable, nor fair to Wife, as it essentially restricts her ability to earn a living, and impedes her ability to provide a realistic view into her life, which is necessary and vital to be a successful reality TV personality,” Porsha charged in her legal plea.

Porsha is facing significant challenges as she contends with her role on Real Housewives of Atlanta amid her ongoing divorce from Simon. She argues that the restriction against filming inside the marital home severely “impedes” her ability “to fulfill her duties as a Real Housewives cast member.” Determined to resolve the issue, Porsha is urgently requesting the court to grant her permission “to film or produce television, film, social media, or other visual content in or around the marital residence” to ensure she can continue her work without hindrance.

As previously reported, production for Season 16 of RHOA is set to begin this month, placing additional pressure on Porsha to secure her filming rights at the home. Her request to the court comes amid a tumultuous legal battle with Simon following their divorce filing in February after just 15 months of marriage. The ex-couple is currently embroiled in a bitter dispute over their prenuptial agreement, complicating the situation further as Porsha strives to maintain her professional commitments amidst personal upheaval.
