Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Caught On Video Brutally Assaulting Cassie Ventura in 2016

CNN has exclusively obtained a 2016 surveillance video that shows Sean “Diddy” Combs in a physical altercation with his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. The video captures Combs as he grabs, shoves, drags, and kicks Ventura during an incident that aligns with allegations made in a now-settled federal lawsuit filed by Ventura in November.

The footage, pieced together from multiple camera angles and dated March 5, 2016, records the incident at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. The location was confirmed by CNN through publicly available photos of the hotel’s interior.

In the disturbing sequence, Ventura is seen leaving a hotel room and heading towards an elevator. Combs, clad only in a towel around his waist, chases after Ventura and is seen grabbing her by the back of her neck, forcefully throwing her to the ground. While still managing to hold his towel closed with one hand, he then kicks her as captured by the video.

As Ventura lies on the ground, Combs picks up a purse and suitcase near the elevators. He turns and delivers another kick to Ventura who appears motionless on the floor. Approximately four seconds elapse between the two kicks. The video further shows Combs dragging Ventura by her sweatshirt toward a room before he walks away.

Afterward, Ventura slowly stands, retrieves her belongings from the floor, and reaches to pick up a phone near the elevators. Combs, still in his towel and socks, comes back into view. A mirror across from the security camera captures Combs as he appears to shove Ventura again.

Moments later, Combs sits on a chair, picks up an object from a nearby table, and throws it forcefully towards Ventura. He walks away and then turns back toward Ventura just as someone appears to exit from the elevator.

Following the incident, Ventura, who reached an undisclosed settlement with Combs, has declined to comment on the video.

Douglas H. Wigdor, Ventura’s attorney, responded to the release of the footage, stating, “The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”

Cassie Ventura, a model and singer best known for her hit “Me & U,” was involved in a tumultuous off-and-on relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs from 2007 to 2018. The pair were last publicly seen together at the Los Angeles premiere of the film “A Perfect Match” on March 7, 2016. Shortly thereafter, a distressing incident occurred that formed the basis of Ventura’s subsequent lawsuit.

According to Ventura’s complaint, the altercation took place “around March 2016” at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles. The lawsuit details that Combs, while “extremely intoxicated,” assaulted Ventura by punching her in the face, which resulted in a black eye. Following the assault, Ventura attempted to leave the room, but upon Combs awakening, he aggressively followed her into the hotel hallway while yelling.

The complaint further alleges that Combs then escalated the violence by grabbing glass vases from the hallway and throwing them at Ventura, causing glass to shatter around her as she fled to the elevator. Ventura managed to escape to her apartment via a cab, but fearing Combs’ further anger, she later returned to the hotel, hoping to de-escalate the situation by apologizing.

Upon her return, hotel security, having witnessed the altercation through security footage, advised Ventura to leave again for her safety. The complaint also claims that Combs later paid the hotel $50,000 to obtain the hallway security footage from that night.

The allegations from this incident are part of a broader series of claims made in a November lawsuit where Ventura asserted she was raped in 2018 and had endured years of repeated physical and emotional abuse by Combs. These accusations highlight a deeply troubling pattern of behavior that Ventura experienced during her time with Combs.
