‘RHONJ’ Star Melissa Gorga Accused of STEALING $10K from Boutique Owner!
Melissa Gorga is back in the spotlight with the return of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but not all the attention is positive.
Melissa Gorga former business partner, Jackie Beard Robinson, recently appeared on the Beyond the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast to promote her new book and dish about their past partnership, which also features in her book.
Jackie accused Melissa of financial misconduct, alleging that Melissa would take money directly from the cash drawer and misuse the company credit card. The situation escalated with a claim about significant damage to their boutique’s inventory.
“There was like $10,000 worth of damage to the clothes… It takes forever for an insurance company to reimburse you,” Jackie explained. She detailed how they planned to give Melissa 20% of the insurance payout, but claims Melissa took the entire amount.
“The lawyer did [put it in the account], and it’s gone. Gone. She took it all… I don’t know how that happened. I still do not know how it happened.”
This incident fueled a major fallout between the partners, leading to Jackie being accused by Melissa on the show of stealing inventory, a claim that hurt Jackie’s reputation deeply.
“Because when she said that, you’re not gonna recover from that. She’s gonna tell her side of the story, and I’m never gonna tell my side of the story. I’m always gonna be like, people are gonna be like this lady could be a thief,” Jackie lamented.
The dispute culminated in a lawsuit that went to arbitration, which, according to Jackie, ultimately dismissed their case. “This took years to do, years for this case to be said, all this time and money wasted to say, oh no, we’re [not] gonna arbitrate the case. I don’t get that at all. I still don’t,” Jackie expressed her frustration.
In the podcast, Jackie also touched on the personal drama between Melissa and her brother-in-law, Joe Gorga, and his wife, Teresa Giudice. Despite the tumult, Jackie opined that Teresa might be the first to extend an olive branch.
“She seems to be one that’ll say things like, you know what, it’s not worth it. I just feel like she’s the more forgiving one.”
As for the future of Teresa and Joe, Jackie is optimistic about a reconciliation. “I think they will work things out because they love each other,” she said. Regarding their potential future on the show, she speculated that if one leaves, both might follow suit.
