‘RHOBH’ Star Kyle Richards DELETES Mauricio Umansky’s Last Name!
Kyle Richards has officially removed estranged husband Mauricio Umansky’s last name from her Instagram bio.
Kyle Richards has dropped the surname “Umansky” from her Instagram bio, signaling a new chapter amid her estrangement from Mauricio Umansky. As of Thursday, May 2, Richards now identifies herself simply as Kyle Richards on her social media profile. Despite the change, her Instagram description maintains the labels: “Mom, wife, actor, author, producer, animal lover, a RHOBH, CAA.”
According to a source speaking exclusively with Us Weekly, Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky have been living separately for several months, with Mauricio residing in a new location. The source noted that Umansky often returns to the home he shares with Richards when she is out of town. “They’ve both been traveling a lot recently, so it’s working out where they don’t stay under one roof,” the insider explained.
Despite their current living arrangements, the couple has not pursued a divorce. The source emphasized that divorce is “not an option they are exploring” at this time.
The separation between Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky, while public, remains financially entangled due to Richards‘ significant investment in Umansky’s real estate venture, The Agency, which features prominently in his Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills. Despite living apart, the couple has not opted for divorce, partly because of the financial complexities.
The dynamics of their breakup were a key storyline in season 13 of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” which concluded earlier this year. In the season finale in February, Richards hinted at trust issues being a factor in their split, stating, “There were things that happened that made me lose my trust that I wasn’t able to recover from.”
While Richards has been somewhat reserved in discussing the details of their breakup, Umansky has openly shared his struggles in the relationship during the second season of “Buying Beverly Hills.” He expressed feelings of being neglected by Richards, revealing attempts at intimacy that were rebuffed. “With Kyle, I’m starting to feel like she’s a little bit checked out,” Umansky disclosed in a confessional, adding, “I am still, you know, 100 percent fighting for our relationship and I am still thinking that I’m going to be married to her for the rest of my life.”
Umansky also shared that the couple sought couples’ counseling in an effort to salvage their marriage, though it ultimately did not resolve their issues. Reflecting on the state of their relationship, Umansky admitted, “I’m sitting here and I’m realizing that perhaps Kyle is no longer in love with me, right? And doesn’t love me the way she used to love me and yeah, I mean, it just hurts. There’s no question it hurts.”
