Annemarie Wiley Feels Relieved Following ‘RHOBH’ Firing!

Just over a month after her departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Annemarie Wiley, a 41-year-old nurse anesthesiologist and former cast member, is looking ahead with optimism.

Speaking at the Homeboy Industries’ Lo Maximo 2024 Awards Dinner, Annemarie Wiley shared her feelings with PEOPLE about her recent exit from the reality series.

“I feel amazing now,” she revealed, describing her current state as being in “a great space.”

Annemarie, a mother of four, expressed that her time on the show did not fully reflect her personal life and challenges. “That was a very interesting year of my life,” she told the outlet. “There were a lot of really personal things that happened to me while we were filming that the viewers, unfortunately, didn’t get to see.” Among these were her mother’s diagnosis with stage four lung cancer and her own struggles with adoption trauma.

Annemarie lamented that her deeper narrative was not showcased, stating, “I wanted to be somebody that was really relatable to people but in the end, I feel people didn’t get to see me. They didn’t get a sense of who I was at all.”

In a poignant Instagram post in March, Annemarie disclosed that she was not asked back for the show’s fourteenth season after only one season as a cast member. In her post, she highlighted her hopes to represent a strong, positive image of a Black family on television. “What I am is a woman — a proud Black woman — who is truly blessed with a wonderful strong Black man as my husband, who lifts me and our four wonderful children up with so much love and positivity on the daily,” she wrote. She had hoped to share her struggles and triumphs, including her mother’s illness and her journey to find her biological parents.

The reality star also addressed recent controversy surrounding her husband, Marcellus Wiley, who faces allegations of sexual assault dating back to 1994. However, Annemarie does not believe this influenced Bravo’s decision not to renew her contract, suggesting instead that the network opted for a “one-dimensional” portrayal that did not capture the full scope of her life.

Looking forward, Annemarie is eager to embark on new projects that align with her identity and values.

“I have so many super exciting things coming up that really align with who I am, like really positive, inspirational, and motivational things… people are going to get to see who I am, and I’m really excited for that,” she said.

Annemarie also plans to continue her work with Project Transition, a non-profit foundation she runs with her husband, focusing on supporting youth in underserved communities. Her multifaceted life as a mother, professional, former athlete, and advocate for health and fitness will be central themes in her upcoming endeavors.

As for RHOBH, Season 14 will be without both Annemarie and another recent departee, Crystal Kung Minkoff, who also confirmed her exit from the series earlier this month.
