Lisa Vanderpump disagrees Katie Maloney’s claim that she shows more sympathy towards the male cast members of Vanderpump Rules than the females. In her response to why she appeared closer to Tom Sandoval, 41, during season 11.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum, 63, anticipated the possible 12th season of the series and refuted claims that she is more sympathetic to men.
Lisa Vanderpump addressed concerns about her seemingly closer relationships with male cast members on the April 5 episode of “Housewives Nightcap.” “I don’t agree,” Lisa remarked.
“Maybe I’m closer to [ Tom Schwartz] than Katie, maybe she feels like that. I don’t know if [Ariana Madix] would feel like that because I think I’m equally close to both of them. Maybe it looks like that because of James Kennedy, because I’ve been very supportive to him over the years. I don’t mean it like that. I don’t agree, but maybe it feels like that.”
She also noted that Tom Sandoval, embroiled in the “Scandoval” controversy, required more of her support due to his vulnerable state. “He did. He was very, very mentally fragile and I don’t take that lightly,” she explained. “He went through a lot. I can’t minimize that but he caused the debacle. That said, I think he’s probably learned not to shag his girlfriend’s best friend.”
Despite tensions following the reunion, Lisa Vanderpump observed that the “Vanderpump Rules” cast tends to reconcile over time. “This group has been so divided so many times, and you would think that this one would never talk to that one again and, somehow, they manage to find their way back to each other,” she noted.
Regarding the upcoming season 12, Lisa acknowledged the possibility of changes in the cast lineup. “I just think people are so attached to this cast, and there’s always a story to tell,” she explained. “So we’ll see. We’ll know when the time is right [to shake things up].”
Lisa also expressed interest in returning the focus of the show to her restaurants, reminiscent of the series’ beginnings. However, she seemed less enthusiastic about featuring the developments of Something About Her. “I hope it opens very soon, ’cause they’re still paying rent!” she exclaimed.
According to a source cited by The U.S Sun, Ariana, 38, and Katie, 37, are planning soft openings for their new establishment before its official launch. The food shop is expected to host a significant celebration during West Hollywood’s annual Pride Weekend, from Friday, May 31, to Sunday, June 2, with a ‘big WeHo Pride party.’
“The inside of the shop is ready to go. Everything is still in place as it has been teased on the show,” the insider reported.
A person familiar with the matter informed Reality Tea in January that the duo has invested nearly $1 million in the shop, incurring monthly rental costs of $8,000.
Madix and Maloney are currently awaiting a storefront sign and are dealing with the reconstruction of the patio, which had to be taken down due to a permit issue. These developments come in the wake of Katie Maloney’s recent assurance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” that their project, Something About Her, would be opening soon.
During the show, host Andy Cohen, 55, passed along a viewer’s question about the opening date. Katie began to answer, “I don’t want to say the opening day because…,” leading Andy to probe, “Right. This year?” Katie confirmed, “Oh, for sure. I told you at the reunion. You know that it’s coming very soon. So very soon.”
Ariana and Katie initially announced their intention to open a gourmet sandwich shop back in 2022, with plans for a launch in May of the following year.
