Robyn Dixon Announces She Was “Fired” From ‘RHOP’ After 8 Seasons!
Robyn Dixon revealed that she has been fired from The Real Housewives of Potomac after dedicating eight seasons to the popular Bravo reality series set in Potomac, Maryland.
In a tearful revelation on her podcast Reasonably Shady, co-hosted with Gizelle Bryant, Robyn Dixon bravely shared that she has been let go from The Real Housewives of Potomac. It’s a candid admission that few Housewives have the courage to make.
“Yes, I will not be returning to season nine of The Real Housewives of Potomac,” Robyn said on the podcast episode posted on Monday, April 15. “It’s reality. The network did not invite me back. I was fired, for lack of better words. I will not sugarcoat the situation and say, ‘Oh, I am walking away and this is a brea’ or anything like this. This is a network decision.”
Robyn openly discussed her departure from The Real Housewives of Potomac, emphasizing that she wouldn’t gloss over the situation. Speaking with her co-star Gizelle Bryant — Robyn became emotional, reflecting on her time on the show and expressing her hope that she had inspired viewers to embrace authenticity. She acknowledged the rollercoaster journey over the past eight years, describing it as both fun and challenging, and expressed gratitude for the experience.
“I’m OK with it because nothing lasts forever. I’ve had a very long run on the show, and I just really appreciate that time and the opportunity that I had on the show,” Robyn continued before thanking Bravo and the production company Truly Original for the opportunity to be on the show.
Robyn entered the scene of The Real Housewives of Potomac during its inaugural season in 2016, joining cast members — Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Karen Huger, Charrisse Jackson-Jordan, and Katie Rost.
“I had a very long run on the show,” she continued during Monday’s podcast. “I just really appreciate the time and the opportunity that I had on the show. I just want to say thank you to the network. Bravo, Truly Original, the production company, the executives there. The people who gave me the opportunity to be on the show, who saw something in me in 2015.”
She added: “The people who saw something in me and thought that they wanted me to be a part of their network, their show, their platform, and to share my story and my life, my family, my trials and tribulations, my ups and downs.”
Robyn’s departure aligns with Candiace Dillard’s announcement that she too will not be returning for RHOP Season 9.
“I am filled with gratitude for the enriching friendships, personal growth and moments of introspection that have defined this journey,” Candiace Dillard announced to People on March 25. “With a whirlwind of new opportunities and responsibilities on my plate, I have decided to take a break from RHOP.”
Robyn became emotional as she reflected on her time on RHOP — expressing her gratitude for the experiences and friendships she gained during her tenure on the show.
“Thank you to the fans who’ve watched us from day one,” Robyn continued. “I do want to especially thank all of the fans and viewers who have supported me, showed loved to me. Whether you directly sent me love or you prayed for me or you have positivey energy or positive thoughts around me, I appreciate you. And I hope I inspired you the viewers, the fans, to live your life authentically. To not feel pressure to change for anyone, or impress people, and just to be yourself.”
She continued, “it’s been such a fun, amazing, stressful, crazy, wild journey the past eight years.”
Actress Christina Applegate expressed frustration on social media over the rumors of Robyn’s departure from RHOP, calling on Andy Cohen for an explanation.
“What in the actual f—k?” the actress shared via X on Tuesday, April 9, tagging Bravo boss Andy Cohen in a separate message. “Why is [Robyn] Dixon not coming back to Real Housewives of Potomac??????? Noooooo!!!!!”
