Jill Zarin Claims ‘Below Deck’ Star Fraser Olender Fueled ‘Charter Guest From Hell’ Drama … Ends Friendship!

Former Real Housewives of New York star Jill Zarin has severed ties with Fraser Olender, alleging that he portrayed her as the infamous ‘Charter Guest From Hell’ — leading to the dissolution of their friendship.

Jill Zarin is moving on from her friendship with Fraser Olender, after the chief stew refused to publicly defend her amid fan backlash over her recent appearance on Below Deck.

Fraser and I, and we kept in touch for a year,” the Real Housewives of New York City alum told Us Weekly on Friday. “But after that, I never want to talk to him. Not at all up until this week.”

X users blasted Jill as the first of two episodes unfolded, calling out the Bravo alum for acting “insufferable,” “entitled,” and like a “spoiled brat.”

“[Fraser] even apologized and said, ‘I feel bad about the bad pressure you’re getting. You don’t deserve it. You’re a nice lady. You didn’t do anything wrong,’” Jill explained. “So I asked him if he would come out and say something and he didn’t.”

Jill, 60, made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with Fraser after he ignored her request.

She said — “I’m done. He doesn’t want to listen. I tried to reach out with him on Instagram. He just said, ‘I feel bad that you are getting a lot of hate and you don’t deserve it.’ And I said, ‘Well, can you say something?’ And he ignored it.”

Stew, Barbie Pascual, initially referred to Jill as “overwhelming” and “freeloading,” but walked back her remarks after the first episode aired.

Barbie said in a post-episode video shared on Instagram — “You guys, I watched the show back, and I don’t think that Jill was as bad as it looked, and I just wanna also say that there were so many other moments where she was super fun and sweet and nice.”

She acknowledged that Jill was “demanding,” but added that she was not rude for requesting things that were “actually normal yacht requirements.”

“She was right. She just wanted nugget ice in her Diet Coke, that’s not a big deal,” Barbie said.

Barbie [defended me]. So did Kyle [Viljoen] from ‘Below Deck Mediterranean.’ He came out and said, ‘What Jill asked for was not unreasonable. She was not being mean. She was not disrespectful,’” Jill noted during the Friday interview. “In fact, quite the contrary. I kept saying how Captain Kerry shouldn’t be bothered with this and the captain shouldn’t be bothered with that. I said [how] I feel so bad for them. We are so tired. How are they going to keep working tonight? I was so empathetic on past trips.”

Jill explained that Fraser’s response took her by surprise after watching back the episodes.

“I had a great time with Fraser. We laughed. We did. We had a great time. I had a great time with Barbie. I think that they’re making a good TV show. Sometimes they may overproduce themselves,” she said. “After I got off the boat, I DMed Fraser. I said, ‘Thank you so much for the most amazing time. We had the best time ever. Love to stay in touch.’”

She added that she used the opportunity to send along a list of suggestions that she believed would be helpful to the crew.

“He wrote back, ‘I’ll write it down. Thank you so much. Let’s stay in touch. Love to see you again,’” Jill continued. “Did he ever complain about me or say, ‘I don’t ever want to talk to her?’ [No], because I was nice.”

Jill clarified that she had no regrets about appearing on the show, but did want to tell her side of the story.

“We wanted to go,” the former Bravo star said. “My friends wanted to go and we had a great time. I didn’t enjoy the commentary saying nasty things about me behind my back and not giving me an opportunity to respond to any of the criticism.”

Fraser had only nice things to say about Jill before the episodes aired.

“She’s sweet. She’s very lovely and very funny — but demanding,” Fraser told Us in February. “[But] all guests are demanding. They’re charter guests and they’ve got their preferences and sometimes they can be frustrating.”

Below Deck airs on Mondays, at 9 pm ET, on Bravo.
