Jax Taylor Draws Criticism for Linking Son’s Regression to Vaccines Following Split from Brittany Cartwright

Jax Taylor was hit with backlash after he implied that childhood vaccinations caused his two-year-old son to regress in his speech.

The Valley star floated the theory on social media after he and estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, revealed that their toddler son, Cruz, had “stopped talking,” during a recent episode of the new Bravo series.

Brittany and Jax have been applauded for candidly sharing their son’s developmental struggles on the show, but fan opinion took a turn after Jax suggested that vaccinations were to blame.

“My son crawled early, walked early, and even spoke early,” Jax explained. “Then we got him vaccinated and it all stopped.”

The Vanderpump Rules alum added — “I am not saying vaccines are the cause but what else could it be, how can [Cruz] be talking fully, walking fully then stop two weeks after vaccinations.”

Jax did not specify which vaccinations he was referring to, but children typically receive several shots to protect against measles, mumps, chickenpox, polio, hepatitis and more, during early childhood.

The Bravo star was slammed with negative fan feedback after suggesting  that vaccinations had potentially stunted Cruz’s speech development.

On X user fumed — “Jax Taylor implying this kind of claim is dangerous. VACCINES DO NOT CAUSE REGRESSION IN CHILDREN!!!!”

Another user remarked — “Having Jax as a father is what caused his son to regress.”

A third person wrote — “Jax the idiot said something idiotic shocking.”

Jax’s remarks came after Brittany confirmed that the couple had decided to separate. She is currently living in a rental home after moving out of their Los Angeles residence.

“After having Cruz, I realized I wanted more in a relationship,” she told Us Weekly, earlier this month. ”I need to make sure Cruz isn’t living in a house where his parents are fighting; that could be a horrible way to grow up.”

Brittany shared that she’d “forgiven Jax for things that I shouldn’t have over the years.”

She added — “I stood by him no matter what. But after nine years, that can wear on you.”

Marital tensions reportedly boiled over after Jax came home at 4 a.m..

“I don’t know if he was hungover the next morning or what, but he comes in and starts a huge fight with me,” Brittany explained, adding that her husband “doesn’t like to think that I’m telling people about our problems.”

“So he just made up this big story to sort of fight with me the next morning because he was having insecurities in his own head,” she claimed.

She revealed that the disagreement was the “the last fight before I packed up my bag and was like, ‘I have to get out of here.’”

The Valley airs on Tuesdays, at 9 pm ET, on Bravo.
