Jennifer Lopez’s Transgender Child Influences Ben Affleck’s Daughter to Transition to A Boy!
Seraphina Affleck has announced that she wants to be called Fin Affleck. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s teenage daughter shared the update at the actress’ father’s memorial service, on March 30.
The 15-year-old spoke during her grandfather’s memorial, which was live-streamed on the Charleston, West Virginia, Christ Church United Methodist Facebook page. The teen, who was wearing a black suit and tie and sporting a buzz haircut, said—“Hello, my name is Fin Affleck.”
Fin first showed off the new hairstyle back in February. Ben and Jennifer’s middle child was also photographed wearing a backpack that had the name “Fin” written across the front of the bag.
Ben, 51, and Jennifer, 51, also share a daughter, Violet, and a son, Sam. The pair have maintained a friendly co-parenting relationship for their three children since divorcing in 2018.
Ben is currently married to Jennifer Lopez, who shares twins, Max and Emme, with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony. The singer revealed that her daughter had shifted to gender-neutral pronouns during a Los Angeles concert performance, in 2022.
Lopez, 54, asked the 16-year-old to join her on stage, explaining to her audience—“I ask them to sing with me all the time but they won’t, so this is a very special occasion, because they’re very, very busy and booked and pricey. They cost me when they come out. They’re worth every single penny because they’re my favorite duet partner of all time. So if you would indulge me.”
Emme and Fin have built a close friendship as step-siblings. Lopez shared her own thoughts on living as a blended family during an appearance on the Today show, in January 2023.
“We moved in together,” she said during the interview, which took place six months after she wed the “Argo” actor. “The kids moved in together. It’s been, like, a really kind of emotional transition, but at the same time, all your dreams are coming true. And it’s just been a phenomenal year. Like, my best year, I think, since my kids were born.”
In a separate interview, Lopez admitted that raising five kids in their pre-teen and teenage years had been challenging.
“The teenage years are tough,” she confessed. “They start challenging you and everything. You have this baby for a while and then it’s, like, your best little friend who loves being with you all the time. And all of a sudden, they’re like, ‘Get out of my room.’”
