Kody Brown’s Mental Health Crisis Threatens Marriage to Robyn After Tragic Death of Son Garrison!

Sister Wives patriarch, Kody Brown, is struggling in the wake of his late  son, Garrison’s death, and his mental state is reportedly causing issues in  his marriage to his one remaining wife, Robyn Brown.

Robert Garrison Brown, the son of Kody and Janelle Brown, died by suicide last month, at his home in Flagstaff, Arizona. He was 25 years old.

On March 9, the TLC clan gathered together to honor Garrison at a celebration of life event held by his National Guard Unit. 

Kody, who attended the ceremony with his wife, was acting “standoffish” and resistant to interacting with his estranged exes, Christine and Meri Brown, according to a report by the U.S. Sun.  

“He would have loved it,” Janelle told fans and followers of the event at the time. “Many [of] you have already seen a lot of these online, often with snarky comments accompanying them. But this was a beautiful moment for us.”

A source updated the outlet on how Kody was coping with the loss, about a month after the emotional tribute. 

The tipster said — “Kody is not okay at all. He’s retreated entirely. He gets into dark places when he gets upset, so he’s just in a very dark place right now.”

The insider went on to describe the 55-year-old as “really depressed.” 

Fans of the long-running series know that Kody had been estranged from Garrison in the years since the Covid-19 pandemic. His relationships with Garrison’s brother, Gabe, and his half-sibling, Leon, formerly Mariah, have also been strained for years. 

Janelle, 54, informed police of the distant family dynamic during the  investigation into Garrison’s tragic death.  

An insider claimed that there had been “problems” in Kody and Robyn’s marriage in the aftermath of the family tragedy.  

“His mental state is affecting his marriage and it’s actually causing problems in his relationship,” the source claimed. “He sort of put up this wall and is internalizing his feelings. He’s focused more on himself and moving on.”

The source clarified that Kody and Robyn would likely stay together, despite their purported marital issues. 

“I don’t think they will ever divorce unless he continues what he is doing and pushes her out,” the source said. “Kody just retreats and when he gets upset, he blames her (for his problems). So right now he’s doing that with her.”

An insider asserted that Kody had a long way to go with his other children, because he had not made amends with Garrison before his son took his own life.

“At this point, Kody’s boys and other kids are not going to be receptive to him now because they just lost a family member,” the source alleged. “It’s going to take even more work for Kody to fix the damage he’s done.”

The insider clarified — “He’s not even thinking about chances of reconciliation since he’s still processing Garrison’s death and grieving his loss.”
