Recent celebrations over Porsha Williams’ return to Real Housewives of Atlanta have been overshadowed by actions from her estranged husband, Simon Guobadia. The dynamic shifted rapidly as Simon took a legal stance against the show’s production.
According to court documents, Simon’s legal move against Truly Original, the production company for Real Housewives of Atlanta. He issued a cease-and-desist letter to the company, specifically demanding an end to filming at his residence. Simon warned that failure to comply would compel him to initiate further legal proceedings.
Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia have been entangled in a dispute over their residence following their split. According to their prenuptial agreement, Simon was expected to leave the home within 30 days post-divorce, a condition he has yet to fulfill. Porsha has subsequently sought legal intervention to remove him from the property, alleging that he fled to Dubai and altered the locks to bar her entry.
In a letter addressed to the Real Housewives of Atlanta production company, Simon expressed his desire to prevent any filming at the house, substantiating his claim by sharing the property’s deed, thereby indicating Porsha’s lack of ownership. He cautioned that any failure to adhere to his demands would lead him to take legal action.
The status of RHOA Season 16’s production remains uncertain, with insiders suggesting that no filming has occurred at the contested property. Despite the property dispute, alternative arrangements such as renting an Airbnb for filming the season could be considered, as it wouldn’t be unprecedented for a cast member to reside in a rental during the show.
Furthermore, Simon has escalated the legal battle by seeking a restraining order against Porsha, citing her “erratic behavior” and an incident where she allegedly arrived at the property with a gunman. This ongoing conflict indicates that the divorce proceedings between Porsha and Simon are far from resolution.
As reported, Simon is insisting on the preservation of all text messages exchanged between Porsha and a man identified as Kelvin.
Simon has asked the court to force Porsha to retain all records of her communications with Kelvin Owusu-Ansah, according to legal filings. Furthermore, Simon is seeking the preservation of communications between Porsha and her sister, Lauren Williams, as well as between Porsha and Karen McKinney.
The court documents explicitly warned, “[Porsha] is further notified that a failure to comply with this notice may result in sanctions for any destruction or failures to preserve any such evidence, including without limitation adverse inferences against Petitioner at trial, sanctions, as well as an award of expenses and attorney fees necessitated by such conduct.”
Porsha filed for divorce on February 22, 2024, after a 15-month marriage. She requested that the court enforce the terms outlined in the pair’s prenuptial agreement.
