Buckingham Palace did not offer details when announcing that King Charles lll had been diagnosed with cancer, in February. Sources have now claimed that the king is fighting pancreatic cancer, and has only been given  two years to live.

The royal family has not shared many specifics about King Charles’ illness, but his diagnosis is common knowledge among royal staffers, a source told In Touch.

“Many courtiers believe Charles’ cancer is worse than they’re making it out to be,” a second insider added. “Even before the diagnosis, there were concerns about his health.”

The palace announced that the 75-year-old royal had received an unspecified cancer diagnosis, after undergoing surgery for a benign enlarged prostate, on January 26.

The statement read — “His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.”

King Charles has attended few public events since receiving the diagnosis.

Charles is keeping up with some appearances, not only to squash the wild conspiracy theories and false reports of his death, but to ensure people that he’s still able to perform his duties as king,” the second source explained.

The tipster added that the monarch was “following doctors’ orders and willing to try any treatment to extend his life by a few years, at least.”

Charles stepped into the role of king after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth ll, in September 2022. He was coronated in front of the world in May 2023.

“It’s a tragedy that Charles won’t be able to follow in his mother’s footsteps of leaving a lasting legacy,” the first source noted.

Charles’ wife, Camilla, 76, his sister, Princess Anne, and his eldest son and heir to the throne, Prince William, 41, have attended the engagements in his absence.

“His aides can tell that Charles still worries about his legacy,” the second source shared.

The insider added that Charles “tends to worry himself” over whether or not William is ready to take over as king.

The royal family appears optimistic about Charles’ prognosis during public appearances.

“He’s doing very well,” Camilla said while visiting Northern Ireland last week. “He was very disappointed he couldn’t come.”

The palace has not offered a public update on the king’s health in weeks, but did shut down reports that Charles had died, on March 18.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement — “We are happy to confirm that The King is continuing with official private business.”
