Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird BLASTS Mama June for STEALING Honey Boo Boo’s ‘DWTS’ Earnings!
Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird and her sister, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, confront their mother, Mama June Shannon, over missing cash on Friday’s episode of Mama June: Family Crisis.
The sisters blast their mother for being elusive about the whereabouts of the money she supposedly deposited into Alana’s Coogan account. The mandated trust is to be used by parents of child stars, who are legally required to deposit a percentage of the minor’s earnings. Alana will be allowed access to the trust at the age of 21.
Pumpkin informs her mother and Mama June’s husband, Justin Stroud, that Alana’s account had a balance of only $33k, despite June’s promise that she had deposited 100% of the teen’s earnings from her brief stint on “Dancing with the Stars.”
Mama June replies — “It’s gone! It went to the house that we bought!”
Pumpkin and Alana remind her that she had also claimed to have spent the money Alana earned during her time on the TLC show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.”
“I spent Honey Boo Boo and the rest of the Dancing with the Stars money,” June says. “It’s gone! There is no money!”
“Nobody knew that you spent the Dancing with the Stars money! We were under the impression that a 100 percent of that went in there,” Pumpkin yells. “That’s all I want you to do is to be honest!”
Alana heaves a sigh before covering her ears and Justin quietly leaves the room, as the shouting match continues. Justin admits that he hadn’t kept up with “what’s happening,” and expresses disappointment that June hadn’t been transparent about the situation.
“Honestly, I was really hurt because I thought me and June were supposed to be able to tell each other everything and if she knew this was going to blow up like this she should have told me about it,” he tells cameras.
Pumpkin accuses her mom of believing that she and Alana would “forget about all that money and walk away.”
“I’m f—ing tired of people making me look like I f—ing spent money in a Coogan account when hello — nobody can touch money in a Coogan account,” Mama June rants, before Pumpkin interjects — “You touched it before it got in here baby, cause you had to put the bottom line percentage, you had to have.”
“You a dirty dog for that,” Pumpkin adds, shaking her head.
Alana called out her mom’s financial priorities during a previous episode, as she prepared to head off to college.
“Maybe she thinks that paying for [her husband] Justin’s chains or something is more important than giving it to me for college. She’s stingy when it comes to money,” the high school grad declared.
