The 35-year-old has been sharing his recovery journey with fans and followers, in hopes that others will avoid his mistake.

“I’m truly blessed!!!” he wrote over a TikTok video on March 5, immediately after his surgery.

The MTV star revealed his altered leg in the clip, as it was being wrapped in bandages.

Thomas said — “I’m already talking to a coach about the [Paralympics] on August 24.”

A doctor noted that while such an undertaking would be a “miracle,” he believed that the athlete could do it.

“Oh, I’m ready,” Thomas said.

Thomas wrote in the post’s caption — “The moment I moved my knee for the first time, witnessing it in person, was truly remarkable.”

In a separate TikTok video, the veteran reality TV competitor updated fans, writing, “Im home 😁🧡🙏🏾” alongside the clip.

He jokingly added — “At least they let me keep my good foot, right?”

Thomas thanked God for helping him though the ordeal as his mom appeared by his side.

“It was a hard three days,” he admitted. “The first two days I was in a lot of pain. Walking into that hospital, I was very scared, but I had my loved ones with me.”

Thomas explained his recovery protocol, which included meds, keeping his leg moving to avoid stiffness and elevated while resting.

“Trust me, people, it is weird,” the reality star said of his new normal. “I still don’t know how i feel but, right now, I’m home and I’m happy and that’s all that matters.”

The competitor added — “I’m just going to take it day by day and we’ll see how things go.”

In February, Thomas announced that his quality of life had not improved amid his own efforts to heal and that an amputation was necessary.

“March 5th 2023 remains vivid in my memory, a persistent presence in my thoughts. I consciously embrace it as the initiation of a new chapter,” he wrote, via Instagram. “Opting for amputation, I am determined to own March 5th and redefine its significance in my life.”

Thomas crashed his Audi A4 into a bridge in Austin, Texas on March 5, 2023, which led to the vehicle bursting into flames. He shared graphic pics snapped at the scene, including one of his torched car, a few weeks later. He thanked Minnesota Vikings player, K.J. Osborn, who was “on the scene” and helped rescue him from the fiery wreck.

Thomas was hospitalized, but it wasn’t until later that he understood all that his recovery entailed.

The MTV personality was arrested for a DUI six months later, after confessing to consuming two to three “mixed alcoholic drinks” when police responded to the accident.
