Sister Wives: Janelle Brown REGRETS Not Seeking Help Sooner for Garrison’s Alcoholism Prior to His Suicide
Janelle Brown expressed regret in a police report after her 25-year-old son, Robert Garrison Brown, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Garrison’s brother, Gabe, found his brother’s body on Tuesday morning.
Janelle explained that the son she shared with ex spiritual husband, Kody Brown, “just stopped texting last night.”
The report stated — “Janelle also made the comment that she should have gotten Garrison help in the past as well.”
Janelle also confirmed that Garrison was “estranged from his father.”
Sister Wives fans know that Garrison and the former polygamist had shared a distant relationship for years.
Gabe told officers that his brother “had been struggling with mental health concerns and alcohol abuse.”
Garrison’s roommates Tyler, Cheyenne, and Addison, all spoke to cops about their interactions with the National Guard vet in the time period leading up to the tragedy.
The report stated — “Addison stated that he has had conversations with [Garrison] about him being depressed lately. He stated that [Garrison] is an alcoholic and drinks every night.”
Addison shared that he had spoken to Garrison the night before his suicide, and that his friend appeared to be “intoxicated.”
Addison, who confirmed that the pair had spent lots of time together, clarified that nothing Garrison said had raised a “red flag.” The report said that Addison “stated that he knew that [Garrison] was having problems with his ex-girlfriend and that he was not a very happy person.”
Garrison’s other roommate, Cheyenne, backed up Addison’s observations about the reality star. She explained that they only shared brief interactions, but had been talking more in recent days.
The report stated — “She stated that she talked a little more in-depth with him about how he was struggling with drinking and his depression surrounding that.”
Janelle also told authorities that she had discovered “troubling” messages sent by her son, just prior to his death.
Garrison sent a text to a group the Brown clan works with on the TLC show, writing — “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days.”
Janelle reached out to her son after learning of the cryptic text message, and asked her other kids to check on him after he stopped responding to her messages.
By the time Gabe arrived at the house, his brother was already deceased.
TLC cameras will be filming the sad aftermath following the family tragedy, per The U.S. Sun.
“The family is normally always filming – whether it’s actual cameras or on their phones,” a source shared. “As sad as it is, his unexpected death came during the timeline of filming.”
