Sister Wives: Garrison Brown’s Roommates Reflect on Last Moments Before His Tragic Death

Garrison Brown’s final interactions with his Flagstaff, Arizona roommates were documented in the police report, following the 25-year-old’s tragic suicide. Garrison, the son of Kody and Janelle Brown, was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot would on March 5. Garrison’s brother, Gabe, found his body. 

According to Radar Online, Flagstaff police officers spoke to three of Garrison’s roommates after responding to a report of a death inside the residence. Garrison’s bedroom was on the home’s second floor. 

The report revealed that the first roommate, who was “very shaken up,” told officers that he “heard Gabriel crying so he came out to see what was happening” as he was preparing to leave the house. The roommate recalled  hearing a “loud pop” but couldn’t remember when exactly he heard the noise. He said that he didn’t think much of it until he learned of the tragedy. 

The report stated — “He informed me that it did not sound like a gunshot, it sounded as if someone dropped something. He advised me that they have three cats and a dog.”

The roommate confirmed that Garrison was his landlord and his friend. He said that Garrison “appeared fine” when they crossed paths the previous night. 

“He stated that Robert mentioned to him that he drank a lot and was going to stop this month,” the report stated. 

The roommate added that Garrison did not appear inebriated when they last interacted. 

A second roommate, who was out of town for a wedding when Garrison took his life, was updated by police over the phone. She began weeping and said that she heard something the previous night and smelled smoke. 

She revealed that Garrison had previously shared with her that he was “struggling with drinking and his depression surrounding that.” The roommate added that they last spoke while Garrison was cooking up some steaks.   

The third roommate, who was also told about Garrison’s death over the phone, told the cops that he did not hear anything the previous night. 

Janelle revealed that she and Garrison had texted back and forth during the evening of March 4 but that he eventually stopped responding. Garrison had previously sent a text message to a group involved in the production of Sister Wives, writing — “I want to hate you for sharing the good times. But I can’t. I miss these days.”

Janelle and her ex spiritual husband put out a joint statement about the  devastating loss, writing on Instagram — “Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown. He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away.”
