Julie Chrisley Facing Cancer Nightmare While In Filthy Prison!

Savannah Chrisley revealed that her mother, Julie Chrisley, experienced a cancer scare while in prison, on the March 5 episode of her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley.

Savannah relayed the story to her listeners by reading letters written by her mom, who described navigating the ordeal behind bars.

“‘I was called out to the doctor,’” the Growing Up Chrisley alum read from the letter. “‘I walked in thinking it was gynecology. I sat down with the doctor and she proceeds to tell me that my HCG level was high—10.2.’”

“‘This is a pregnancy hormone,” Savannah continued. “‘It should not be that high. If it were a little higher, I would test positive on a pregnancy test. Since that’s not a possibility, it could be a sign of a tumor.'”

Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and went into remission  after undergoing a double mastectomy and hysterectomy. She described feeling devastated by the news, especially in the absence of her husband, Todd Chrisley, who is serving his prison sentence in another state.

“‘I literally fell apart,'” she wrote. “‘How can this be happening? I’m going to have blood work redone and get a scan. I’ve not told anyone and I’m not going to until I know what’s going on. I’m so scared. I just want my husband. I don’t know if I can do this without him.’”

Savannah blasted the facility’s healthcare system and its lack of transparency in communicating with family members.

“They tell your family absolutely nothing,” she said. “I wasn’t notified of any of this. They don’t care. If my mom were to go to the hospital, I would not know.”

Savannah previously revealed that while living her life without her parents had been difficult, her mother’s letters had been a source of comfort.

“When I read them it makes me sad but at the same time, it also gives me so much comfort,” she shared in a February episode. “just seeing my mom’s handwriting and knowing that she touched it and she wrote it.”

Julie’s health crisis comes amid a communication blackout between herself and her husband. Last month, Radar Online reported that Todd and Julie “haven’t spoken,” since the “Chrisley Knows Best” duo checked into separate prisons in January 2023.

The insider told the outlet that the couple’s lawyers followed protocol in  requesting that their clients be allowed to talk over the phone on a monthly basis, which reportedly aligned with standard procedure.

Julie’s warden approved the request but the head warden at Todd’s prison “refuses” to allow the phone conversations between the husband and wife, per the report. The tipster claimed that the denial was in “retaliation” for Todd and his daughter, Savannah Chrisley, speaking out about the unacceptable living conditions inside the prison.

In June 2022, Todd and Julie were found guilty of 12 counts of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy. The reality TV couple was sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison. Todd received 12 years and Julie was sentenced to 7 years behind bars. Julie’s sentence was later reduced by 14 months, and Todd’s time by almost two years.
