‘Vanderpump Rules’ Alum Brittany Cartwright Blames Jax Taylor for Destroying Their Marriage
Brittany Cartwright blamed her estranged husband, Jax Taylor, for “not trying” to save their marriage in the wake of their separation.
“It’s Jax, so he’s not really trying that much right now,” Brittany told TMZ on Saturday.
The Vanderpump Rules alum implied that she had already suggested marriage counseling when asked if they planned to seek the help of a professional.
“I’ve asked him for a while to do certain things and nothing has come from that,” she said.
The 35-year-old explained—“Whenever you fight with somebody for so long, there’s only so much you can take, and you know, I deserve better, [our 2-year-old son] Cruz deserves better.”
Brittany revealed what she planned to do next, stating — “We want, like, a good co-parenting relationship and I think that me moving out and taking space to figure out if this is what I want is, like, the best situation for me right now.”
Brittany clarified that she still loves her husband, adding — “I just want the best for me and my son at this point. That’s like my main focus.”
“If he switches some things and changes some things about his life then maybe we can get back together,” she noted. “But right now, I don’t know.”
Brittany disputed a rumor claiming that the breakup was plotted to generate buzz about their new reality show, “The Valley,” which premieres later this month.
“This is definitely for my mental health,” Brittany said. “I think that’s been one of the hardest parts right now is that people are speculating that I am doing something for the show coming out.”
She teased that the new show would reveal the reason behind the estranged duo’s decision to separate.
Brittany and Jax, 44, wed in June 2019, in a ceremony filmed for “Vanderpump Rules.” They confirmed their exits from the series in 2020 and welcomed their son a year later, in April 2021.
The Bravo star announced that she and Jax were taking a break from their relationship during a recent episode of their podcast, “When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany.”
“Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” she admitted. “Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
On Thursday, Jax told Page Six that their decision to separate was “not a divorce.”
“It’s not evil or nastiness,” he claimed. “We have a child involved and we just wanna do what’s best for our kid”
Brittany was later spotted moving into a new rental home as a source told the outlet that the reality TV couple was “not on a path to reconciliation.”
The Valley premieres on March 19 on Bravo.
