The REAL REASON Wendy Williams Appeared Confused and Drugged Up During Her Documentary!
Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr., confirmed that his mom’s frontotemporal dementia was due to alcohol addiction in the new documentary, “Where is Wendy Williams?”
Hunter explained that alcoholism had damaged the former The Wendy Williams Show host’s “headspace and her brain.”
Hunter revealed in Sunday’s episode — “I was able to really learn more about things going on with my mother internally.”
The 23-year-old continued — “[Doctors] basically said that because she was drinking so much, it was starting to affect her headspace and her brain. So, I think they said it was alcohol-induced dementia.”
Wendy was first told about her damaged brain after checking into a Florida rehab facility in 2019. She was officially diagnosed with dementia and aphasia, last year.
The former daytime diva’s niece, Alex Finnie, shared that she suspected a problem when her aunt began experiencing obvious memory lapses. She learned of Wendy’s initial diagnosis in 2022.
“But after seeing my aunt and really spending time with her in a state where she’s in right now, I quickly realized that things were just not normal,” Finnie said in the documentary.
She added — “It’s heartbreaking.”
Finnie went on to say that her aunt’s condition worsened after enduring her divorce from ex-husband, Kevin Hunter Sr., the death of her mother and the COVID-19 pandemic.
The two-part documentary revealed Wendy, 59, regularly consuming alcohol despite her exposed addiction. Her former rep, Shawn Zanotti, brushed off concern, claiming that the popular TV personality “knows her limits.”
Meanwhile, Wendy’s former attorney, LaShawn Thomas, suggested that the star’s health severely declined because she was forced into a guardianship.
Thomas posted a throwback video on Instagram Saturday, revealing the former “Wendy Williams Show” host seemingly healthy while chatting about her workouts.
Thomas captioned the vid — “You can clearly see the difference between Wendy’s well-being during her time here in Florida with her son caring for her and her lack thereof in New York under this ‘guardianship.’”
She continued — “These Wendys are not the same. How did her health deteriorate so quickly, and why isn’t her only child allowed to be by her side. She wasn’t like that when he cared for [her].”
The attorney alleged that the video was captured two weeks before Wendy was ordered to move from Florida back to New York, to be placed under a guardianship, in May 2022.
