Vicki Gunvalson, Alexis Bellino and Gina Kirschenheiter Used in Political Smear Campaign Against Their Will
Real Housewives of Orange County personalities, Vicki Gunvalson, Alexis Bellino, and Gina Kirschenheiter appeared in a political attack ad launched by Wisconsin Democrats against a Republican candidate — without their knowledge.
Cameo spots filmed by the past and present reality stars were included in a plug jabbing at GOP businessman, Eric Hovde, who launched his bid for the U.S. Senate in Wisconsin, last week.
Radar Online confirmed that both Vicki and Alexis did not give permission to use their Cameo messages to go after Hovde.
Alexis told the outlet that she didn’t know about the ad and added that her manager would be “contacting” those responsible for the confusion.
Vicki stated — “No. I didn’t give permission,” when asked about the takedown strategy.
The footage circulated within political and entertainment circles last week. The clip featured the three past/present OC “Housewives” in Cameos that appeared to be funded by the Wisconsin Democrats. Press play below to watch.
Critics have slammed Hovde for his connection to California, where he owns a bank and is allegedly living in a Laguna Beach house valued at $7 million.
Wisconsin Democrats wrote over the video on X — “Happy National California Day, @EricHovde! If you’re feeling a little homesick today, don’t worry — we have a special message from a few of your neighbors in Orange County. “California misses you already, but they know you’ll be back very soon. Home sweet home!”
Gina said in the Cameo clip—“I know that you are from Orange County, so you’re my neighbor,” before the footage jumped to Vicki.
“And you’re leaving for a work adventure for a year,” Vicki said before Alexis jumped in to say—“All of your friends in O.C. are wishing you so well. I know you have a new endeavor happening in Wisconsin.”
Gina compared Wisconsin to California, stating — “That’s like a really big change from Orange County 100%.”
Vicki chimed in with some words of advice — “Love Wisconsin but you’re leaving now. It’s going to get really cold there.”
The Bravo OG wrapped the video with her classic charge to “whoop it up.”
Hovde, who is expected to pour $20 million of personal funds into his campaign, will run for the Senate against Senator Tammy Baldwin.
The story comes amid rumors suggesting that Alexis is plotting a RHOC comeback amid her romance with cast member, Shannon Beador’s ex, John Janssen. In December, Vicki clarified that she did not know if Alexis had been asked back to the show. She referred to the new couple as “ridiculous and thirsty” on Instagram, at the time.
Fans can expect to see the return of cast members, Heather Dubrow, Shannon Beador, Emily Simpson, Gina Kirschenheiter, Jennifer Pedranti and Tamra Judge.
