‘Love Is Blind’ Star Chelsea Responds After Fans Clowned Her for Megan Fox Comparison
Chelsea Blackwell is reacting to fan chatter after claiming that she had been physically compared to actress, Megan Fox, on Netflix hit, Love Is Blind.
The 31-year-old event planner and flight attendant told Jimmy Presnell that she’d been repeatedly told that she looked like the movie star, sparking lots of dissenting opinions from outspoken viewers.
Blackwell, who admitted that she didn’t see the likeness herself, advised Presnell to not get excited during their chat though the opaque pod wall, ahead of their decision to get engaged. Presnell noted in a personal interview that while he found Blackwell attractive after meeting her face-to-face, his fiancée had “lied” to him about her appearance.
It appears that Blackwell’s insecurities will be spotlighted as the couple’s engagement progresses.
Blackwell took to Instagram and TikTok to address the controversy, posting a video of herself dancing to Led Zeppelin track, “Immigrant Song.”
She captioned the post — “Go on a show for love > get your butt dragged through the trenches.”
Blackwell further addressed the drama via her Instagram Story, reposting an encouraging note shared by pal, Presley Carter.
The note read — “Thank you all who are from our hometown and known Chels for all of your love and support for her through this! It’s been so exciting to watch her and see everything!”
Carter added — “Also very hard because people are so mean here on the internet and take reality TV way too seriously. Like it’s a show yall, we need to cool it 😉”
She went on to say that “what people who are criticizing the cast [need] to understand.”
Carter wrote — “These are real people with feelings, and emotions. With families and friends reading the comments. We’re ALL imperfect, all trying our best. Please respect the cast through this.”
Carter pointed out that “Love is Blind” editors “want to get drama and tell a narrative.”
Blackwell had previously connected with Trevor Sova amid Presnell’s early interactions with Jessica Vestal. Presnell explained that he wasn’t “100 percent” sure about proposing to Vestal, the dating show’s first single mom. Presnell went straight from his split from Vestal to the pod to connect with Blackwell. Presnell’s interaction and subsequent proposal to Blackwell came ahead of her scheduled meeting with Sova.
The Season 6 couples are about to head home to Charlotte, North Carolina, where both Presnell and and Blackwell will reconnect with past love interests, potentially complicating their future walk down the aisle.
Love is Blind is currently streaming on Netflix.
