‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Drops Season 5 Bombshell: New Levels of Drama and Chaos Unleashed!

TLC has confirmed the return of Seeking Sister Wife. Fans will catch up with the Merrifield and Davis families when Season 5 premieres next month. 

The upcoming season will feature five couples, including two returning families, Garrick and Dannielle Merrifield and Nick Davis and his three wives, Jennifer, April and Danielle, the newest member of the polygamous clan. 

TLC cameras picked back up with Dannielle and Garrick shortly after their breakup from Garrick’s Brazilian lover, Roberta “Bert” Pache. In August 2022, Roberta dropped a bomb when she publicly hinted that she had ditched the trio’s life plan, after unfollowing the Merrifields on social media. Online sleuths discovered that she had followed an account that seemingly confirmed a change of heart about the Merrifields’ lifestyle. A Reddit user shared that Roberta had followed an account called “Escaping Polygamy.”

Roberta struggled with jealousy after Danielle encouraged Garrick to start courting a potential third wife, amid Roberta’s spotty communication from Brazil. It appeared clear that she was having serious doubts about taking the final steps toward a new life in the United States, as a second wife. 

The duo will try again this season with a woman named Nathalia, who hails from an unspecified South American country. The Season 5 preview, shared by Entertainment Tonight, teased that Dannielle is less than enthused about inviting another wife into their family, this time around.  

“Some people live this lifestyle just to have sex freely, but that would be wrong and evil,” Garrick said in the teaser. “No those aren’t the reasons guys.”

Fans will get reacquainted with the Davis family, as the group prepares to welcome a new baby. They consider inviting another woman into the mix, but the wives aren’t so sure it’s a good idea. 

“There are far more people who can’t do this than there are who can,” Nick acknowledged in the sneak peek. 

Three new couples will make their debuts, including Becky and Justin, a couple who has been married for 26 years. Justin’s current girlfriend is struggling to adjust to the controversial lifestyle, so the duo decides to meet Yary, a potential winner, but seemingly resistant to the idea of sharing her man with another woman. 

The Salahuddin family and the Sherwood family round out the Season 5 cast. Shane and Ashley Sherwood are expecting their first child. Ashley  tries to recruit a potential sister wife, but the woman appears uninterested in her husband.  

Seeking Sister Wife premieres on Monday, March 4 at 9:00 pm ET, on TLC.
