Usher Gifted His Ex-Wife Tameka Foster VIP tickets to Super Bowl 2024 After Scandalous Divorce
Usher wed his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, over the weekend, but also gifted his ex-wife VIP tickets so she could watch him perform at halftime during Super Bowl 2024.
“One of the perks of having Usher as an ex is going to the Super Bowl,” the singer’s ex, Tameka Foster, told Page Six. “It’s facts.”
Foster clarified — “I’m not dating anybody that can’t take me to the Super Bowl. That would not be my trajectory. But seeing Usher performing was definitely a perk.”
The singer rocked Allegiant Stadium midway through Sunday’s big game and was joined on stage by guests, Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R., Lil Jon and Will.i.am.
“I thought the Super Bowl was great,” said Foster said. “It was phenomenal. I had a good time. I had so much fun at the game. The halftime show, of course, was amazing.”
Foster and Usher were married from 2007-2009 and share two teenage children together.
The stylist is set to star in new reality series, “Bold and Bougie,” alongside co-stars, Malaysia Pargo, Crystal Smith, Gocha Hawkins, Princess Banton-Lofters. The WeTV series premiered on February 15.
When Foster was asked to dish on the worst and best parts of being married to the famous singer, she said — “Well, the best part is that we have amazing children and they’re amazing and they’re cute. They have spunky personalities from the both of us.”
The author admitted — “The worst part is doing an interview about [her upcoming] TV show and being asked about Usher.”
“Love is love — as long as he finds love whatever juncture he’s in, in his life,” she said, when asked about her ex’s new relationship. “I always encourage him to have good habits.”
The 53-year-old shared that she experienced backlash during her years with Usher, partially due to the color of her skin.
“I was not loved for that… That’s the worst part I think for me. I just don’t feel that black love is embraced anymore,” Foster said. “I think it’s a thing of the past, unfortunately. I don’t think it’s as celebrated. Nowadays we have to change the narrative, but we have to find men that agree with us. That’s the problem. The men are going the other way.”
“My self-esteem at the time… you know we’re talking about 10 years ago,” she added. “The sisters didn’t like it.”
