Teresa Giudice DENIES Being a Criminal Despite Fraud Conviction
Teresa Giudice continued to deny that she was complicit in the crimes that sent her to federal prison, during a recent episode of her podcast, “Nama$te Bitches.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star refused to take accountability when a fan questioned her seeming pattern of behavior.
The person asked — “When are you going to stop blaming everyone else for everything that happens to you?”
Teresa proclaimed in response — “I don’t blame everyone else that things that happen to me.”
The Bravo star went on to insist that she’s “not a criminal” and “walks with her head up high” despite her past misdeeds and nearly year-long stint in federal prison.
Teresa and her then-husband, Joe Giudice, were convicted in 2014 on multiple charges of fraud. Teresa served 11 months behind bars and Joe was incarcerated for three years. Teresa was released in December 2015 and Joe was deported to Italy upon his release, in March 2019.
Teresa, who initially asserted that she didn’t blame anyone for her criminal history, switched gears and placed the blame squarely on her ex.
“If I have to blame someone, I guess I’d blame my husband,” Teresa declared. “And he took full accountability for it. He filed business taxes but never filed personal, and that was his biggest mistake.”
“That’s why they came knocking on our door, because he didn’t pay personal taxes,” she added.
She went on to say that the feds decided to “make an example” out of a high profile couple.
“Because we were on tv, they make an example out of you,” she explained. “Like, I did my time, I already did it, I took accountability.”
Back in May 2023, Teresa’s former co-star, Caroline Manzo, disputed her claim that she was the person who tipped off the feds.
“I know who did,” the Bravo alum clarified during an appearance on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast.
Caroline, 62, who attended the live taping alongside her daughter, Lauren Manzo, added — “PS, I was there.”
Lauren was quick to chime in — “But we’ll never say who it was.”
Caroline explained that she understood what was unfolding, but “took the fall,” because she was “not a rat.”
“It’s not even about being a rat,” she said. “There’s this thing called collateral damage. So, when you say something, who’s going to hurt? Who is this going to hurt by saying this truth?”
The RHONJ alum added — “You can believe whatever you like about me. I know I never did — I could never do that. But if blaming me makes you feel better, OK, then your reality. It’s not going to change my day.”
She explained that she never spilled the identity of the snitch “to protect people that didn’t deserve the collateral damage and the fallout once it comes out.”
Caroline admitted that being falsely tagged as the informant was “hurtful.”
Teresa had previously implied that Caroline was the person who alerted the feds because she had predicted the duo landing behind bars.
