Taylor Swift Allegedly Had Kanye West Removed From the Super Bowl
Kanye West was in the building as his artistic nemesis, Taylor Swift, cheered on boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the Kansas Chiefs to a Super Bowl 2024 victory.
Kanye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, was also in attendance, but it appears that there were no awkward encounters between Kanye, Kim, and Taylor during the big game.
The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 22-25 in overtime, and lots of celebrities took in the spectacle at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Kanye, 46, made his entrance in head-to-toe black, which included his Alexander McQueen facial mask. Taylor, 34, rocked a black corset top and jeans, topping the ensemble with Kelce’s sequined jacket as she exited the stadium. She accessorized with a custom Stephanie Gottlieb “87” necklace, paying tribute to the tight end’s jersey number, and a Judith Leiber football clutch.
Taylor has been at the receiving end of Kanye’s public jabs for over ten years. Longtime fans will remember Kanye confronting the rising pop star in 2009 on the VMA stage. The rapper interrupted the “Mine” singer’s acceptance speech when he grabbed her mic and declared that Beyonce should have won the award.
In 2016, Kanye rapped “I made the b*tch famous,” referring to Taylor.
Kim, Kanye’s wife at the time, stepped in after fans sounded off in defense of the popular songstress, claiming in a posted video that Taylor had given the green light to Kanye’s lyrics.
Taylor could be heard commenting in a phone exchange with the rapper—“I’m really glad you had the respect to call me that and tell me that as a friend, about the song. It’s just a really cool thing to do, and a really good show of friendship.”
Taylor later clarified that she was not told that Kanye would be calling her a “b*tch” in his song. Kanye continued to push his point in his newly released song, “Carnival,” when he rapped “I made six Taylor Swifts,” implying that he was responsible for the global superstar’s career.
Kanye made headlines earlier this month, when Sharon Osbourne slammed the “Heartless” singer for using her husband, Ozzy Osbourne’s song without his permission during his recent album listening event.
Sharon told TMZ Friday — “Kanye f–ked with the wrong Jew this time.”
Sharon revealed that a cease and desist letter had been sent to the musician after he was previously barred from using the version of “Iron Man,” the rocker performed at the 1983 US festival live.
She also called Kanye a “disrespectful antisemite” who “represents hate.”
On Thursday, Kanye hosted a listening party alongside Ty Dolla $ign to promote their upcoming album, Vultures, at the United Center in Chicago. The controversial artist debuted new songs, rapping — “And I’m still crazy, bipolar, antisemite / And I’m still the king.”
Kanye’s expressed views have stirred up controversy since October 2022, when he took to X to call for “death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE.”
Kanye apologized to the Jewish community in December, but did not stop putting out antisemitic rhetoric.
On February 14, Kanye West denied Brandon Marshall’s allegations regarding Yeezy and Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl. According to a spokesperson for Kanye, “This rumor is completely false. It’s not true.”
