‘RHOBH’ Star Annemarie Wiley’s Heartbreaking Adoption Saga Exposed … This Explains A LOT!
Annemarie Wiley candidly discussed her adoption journey, following a moment of emotional release related to her biological mother during the February 7th episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
During Sutton Stracke’s ash-spreading ceremony for Merce Cunningham, Annemarie Wiley opened up about her adoption trauma. Having let go of the longstanding toxic emotions, the 41-year-old nurse shared the story of her adoption on the After Show. She revealed that her biological mother opted for a “closed adoption,” and expressly wished that Annemarie never try to contact her.
“I was still in my feelings about [Crystal Kung-Minkoff] and I was like, ‘You know what? At this point, it is what it is.’ I did that, and I did my biological mom because I was adopted and I was adopted when I was 2 weeks old, and my biological mother had given me up for adoption because she felt she was not equipped to take care of me, and she wanted me to be in a better situation,” Annemarie shared on the RHOBH: After Show.
Alongside choosing a closed adoption for Annemarie, the biological mother of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer also included a specific request in her documents, asking that her baby girl “to never try to contact her,” a request Annemarie has since honored.
Annemarie tried reaching out to her biological aunt, but their connection didn’t quite pan out as she hoped.
“I did the genetic testing years ago, and I received an email that said I had a really close relative. It was showing that it would’ve been my mother’s sister. So admittedly, I was kind of excited and I messaged her and I said something to the effect of ‘I’m 41 years old. I was born in Edmonton at this hospital on this day. My mother gave me up for adoption. I’m just wondering if you know of me, if you know of my existence at all. I would love to reach out and find out any information that I could,’” Annemarie recalled.
In response, the supposed aunt ensured Annemarie would not make any further attempts to contact her, “She blocked me,” a tearful Annemarie stated.
Now a mother herself, Annemarie struggles with the concept of birthing a child and not being part of their life, which leads her to occasionally ponder whether her biological mother still wishes for her to refrain from making contact.
“Does she still mean that? Is she somewhere saying, ‘I wish I had never asked my daughter to find me?’ Or has she completely moved on?” Annemarie asked. “And is the woman that was supposed to be my aunt, was that telling that she still doesn’t want me to find her?”
“I can’t control that my biological mother wanted to put me up for adoption. I can only control my reaction to it and how I live my life going forward. So that’s what I let go of,” she added.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesday nights, at 8pm ET, on Bravo.
