Todd and Julie Chrisley Haven’t Communicated Since Checking Into Separate Prisons Over One Year Ago!

Todd and Julie Chrisley have not spoken to each other in over a year, after they were denied the right to communicate amid their respective prison sentences.

Todd and Julie “haven’t spoken,” since the “Chrisley Knows Best” duo checked into separate prisons in January 2023, a source tells Radar Online.

The insider told the outlet that the couple’s lawyers followed protocol when they requested that their clients be allowed to talk over the phone on a monthly basis, which reportedly aligned with standard procedure. Married couples are allowed to share monitored phone conversations, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, but the discussions must be approved by individual wardens.

The outlet reported that Julie’s warden approved the request but that the head warden at Todd’s prison “refuses” to allow the phone conversations between the husband and wife. The tipster claimed that the denial was in  “retaliation” for Todd and his daughter, Savannah Chrisley, speaking out about the unacceptable living conditions inside the prison.

“For privacy, safety, and security reasons we do not discuss the conditions of confinement for any individual in our custody to include approved telephone lists,” a rep for Federal Prison Camp, Pensacola told the outlet.

Todd is serving out his 12-year sentence in the Florida facility and Julie is behind bars at the Federal Medical Center Lexington, in Kentucky. In June 2022, Todd and Julie were found guilty of 12 counts of tax evasion, bank and wire fraud, and conspiracy. The couple was indicted in August 2019 for allegedly submitting fraudulent bank records to secure more than $30 million in loans.

Last month, Savannah claimed that her imprisoned father had been receiving backlash for his outspoken public stance on substandard prison conditions.

“It is heartbreaking for me to watch as his daughter,” Savannah said during a January interview with NewsNation, adding that the “retaliation is real.”

“They have gone to the extent of stating that they will try to ship him to a state facility because our federal institutions cannot guarantee his safety,” Savannah told the network.

Savannah claimed that she was contacted, via a letter from anonymous prison staffers, after Todd told the network that he had been targeted by workers while living in filthy conditions.

“The BoP has called me a liar numerous times, but I have all the information to back it up,” she said. “And these letters, I mean, I even have recordings of them speaking about shipping my father … but they have to have a good reason to. They have to find something he’s in violation of.”

She went on to say that the prison had gone to “the extent of planting cell phones, drugs, going through his lockers” in an alleged effort to send him and another inmate “to a facility and truly behind bars.”

The legal teams representing Todd and Julie are preparing to appeal the pair’s convictions, amid the communication blackout. Oral arguments are scheduled for April 19.
