Porsha Williams Makes ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Comeback For Season 16!

Insiders confirmed that Porsha Williams is officially “locked in” to return to Real Housewives of Atlanta for its 16th season, marking her grand comeback since departing the series following her engagement announcement to Simon Guobadia after season 13.

According to The Neighborhood Talk, the popular alum will return as Kandi Burruss makes her grand exit ahead of production on Season 16.

In 2021, Porsha Williams announced her departure from the show ahead of season 14. “After ten life-changing, gratifying, incredible years, it is finally time to begin my next chapter,” she declared.

“Next season, I will not be returning to the Real Housewives of Atlanta franchise. This was a difficult decision to not only make but also come to terms with. It’s one I have put a lot of thought into and because of that, I know it’s the right one.”

The outlet has revealed that Porsha will be accompanied by veteran RHOA cast member Kenya Moore in her return.

This announcement regarding Porsha’s comeback was made just a day following Kandi Burruss’ declaration that she would NOT be coming back for the upcoming season.

During the Grammy weekend, Kandi disclosed her departure from the show. When inquired about the forthcoming season, she remarked, “I’m not really keeping up right now.”

“I’m not keeping up. I already said it, so I’ll tell you. I decided I’m not coming back this year. It’s been 14 seasons, and they allowed us to sit around for a little too long, but during that time I had started working on a lot of other things, and I got some nice big projects coming soon, so I’m super excited about those things,” she elaborated.

Andy Cohen responded to Kandi’s departure news on Monday, commending her contributions and experiences on the show.

“Incredible run,” he commented. “And you think about how much she not only went through on the show but brought to the show. When she came on, she was with AJ. He, between filming our first season and shooting the reunion, was killed. She lost him. Mama Joyce was disapproving of AJ in her first season. This was season two of Atlanta. It was Kandi’s first season.”

As has been widely speculated, there have been ongoing rumors for months suggesting that producers were considering a cast overhaul following a season that struggled with ratings.

To date, no official decision has been announced regarding the futures of Marlo Hampton, Sheree Whitfield, Sanya Richards-Ross, and Drew Sidora on the show.

Porsha’s storyline in Season 16 promises to be compelling, especially following her controversial marriage to Simon Guobadia. Simon, who was previously married to ex-RHOA star, Falynn Pina, sparked widespread attention upon his engagement to Porsha. Their relationship and ensuing nuptials have become a focal point of interest among RHOA fans.

Simon and Porsha exchanged vows in a traditional Nigerian native law and custom ceremony in November 2022.
