Whoopi Goldberg Removes Herself ‘The View’ Co-Hosts’ Group Chat

Whoopi Goldberg made it clear that she preferred to be left out of group chats between her co-hosts, during Monday’s episode of The View.

Alyssa Farah Griffin brought up the topic, asking the ladies if she had been included in all group chats. Sunny Hostin admitted that Griffin had been left out of some conversations in the past, but reminded her that Whoopi would “gladly give you her spot.”

Sunny, 55, remarked — “She doesn’t look at any of us,” referring to the “Sister Act” actress.

Whoopi, 68, jumped in, commenting — “I feel like Michael Corleone. Because I take myself off the group text… and then I’m boom, back! And I’m like, ‘What the.’”

Sunny added — “And Joy [Behar] puts you right back on.”

Ana Navarro, 52, reminded Whoopi that she could mute her notifications rather than completely remove herself from the cast chats.

Whoopi defended her decision to stay out of the loop.

“Silencing y’all does not mean being part of it,” she said. “I don’t care. I don’t care what you’re upset about. It’s the weekend!”

Ana admitted that participating in multiple group chats with different people could get confusing.

“See, that’s why I’m not on all of that stuff because I know who I’m texting,” Whoopi agreed. “If I need to talk to you, I’ll talk to you.”

She continued — “I don’t just be sending y’all stuff! I’m busy! I’m busy, you know,” she went on. “When I talk about those hit and runs, what do you think I’m doing? I communicate when I have something to say. I don’t just be sending y’all stuff. I’m busy.”

Whoopi has been known to drop out of conversations that don’t interest her during live broadcasts. She walked off “The View” set earlier this month during a discussion about sexual fetishes.

The women discussed an advice column published by Guardian, in which an anonymous reader lamented his wife’s decision to not allow him to give her foot massages, after he confessed he had a fetish.

“You have to entertain your partner’s kink, within reason,” Alyssa asserted.

Her remarks prompted Whoopi to stand up and exit the set.

“Excuse me for a second,” she said as she walked away. “Keep talking!”

Joy Behar

Joy Behar later asked her outspoken co-star why she left the convo, but Whoopi declined to offer any clarity. It appeared that Whoopi cut and run in order to hand someone something off-camera.

She joked — “I was so enamored by what you were saying that I felt that I needed to take a breath so I could just get myself together, so I could come back to the table!”

Whoopi continued — “So, I just got up and walked away and just got myself together!”

Joy quipped — “This is what my feet do to people,” to which her co-host replied — “This is what this conversation does to people. It makes them get up and move.”

Whoopi added — “I don’t care ’cause my feet are huge, and no one wants to touch them!”
