‘Vanderpump Rules’ Recap: Lala Kent Has A Change of Heart and Forgives Raquel Leviss 

During the Season 11 premiere of Vanderpump Rules on Tuesday, Lala Kent delivered an unexpected message to Raquel Leviss.

“Hey Raquel, um, I’m sure I’m like the last person you expected to hear from, um, I hope that you’re doing OK,” Lala said as she recorded the voice memo on her phone.

“Um, I don’t know if you’re back in LA or not, but I’d like to have a conversation with you at some point if you’re open to that, um, alright hope to talk to you soon,” Lala concluded.

Mere moments after sending the voice memo through an Instagram direct message, Lala saw a read receipt — acknowledging  that Raquel viewed the DM.

“Oh my God, she saw it. I feel like I’m gonna throw up and s–t my pants at the same time,” Lala said.

But remains uncertain whether Raquel actually listened to the message.

Lala, who had previously defended her behavior towards Raquel on social media and during the intense Season 10 reunion after the revelation of Raquel’s affair with Tom Sandoval, had a change of heart. She began to empathize with Raquel by drawing parallels to a situation she had personally gone through.

Lala sent the message after having a heart-to-heart conversation with Lisa Vanderpump during a group gathering at TomTom.

“I’m feeling a lot of different ways about this Raquel situation after like taking a step back,” Lala told Vanderpump.

Lala reminisced about a significant moment from the previous season when Raquel sat in a confessional and confessed to Sandoval being her “one person.” Raquel expressed her fear that if she were to disclose the full story of their affair, she might also face rejection from him, leaving her with “really nobody.”

Reflecting on that moment, Lala confided in Vanderpump, “What I can relate to is feeling isolated and feeling like the person who has made you feel like they’re the only one, and if you go against them, you have nothing.”

Lala was alluding to her breakup with her ex, Randall Emmett, with whom she has a two-year-old daughter named Ocean. This split occurred following allegations of infidelity and several other controversies.

“I know what it’s like to have a man in front of you painting a beautiful picture saying, ‘You’re the one for me, you’re my soulmate,’ and you see what your future could be with this person, and you’re willing to f–king risking it all so much so that I ignored everyone around me telling me, ‘Girl, you’re the other woman,’” Lala stated in a talking head confessional.

When Lala initiated her relationship with Emmett in 2015, he was still legally married to his ex-wife, Ambyr Childers. During that period, Lala denied any involvement in an affair and contended that Childers and Emmett were already separated.

“The hardest part about that is that like all the names I was called –– me being labeled a homewrecking whore, like if you just lay it out there, they’re all true,” A tearful Lala said in her confessional.

Lala became emotional in front of Vanderpump, 63, as she empathized with Raquel. Vanderpump then proposed that Raquel might benefit from having “someone to talk to.”

“What Raquel did, what she said, how she went about things was so f–king stupid, but as someone who knows what it’s like to walk through life and see comments about being a mistress, I don’t want her to wear that forever,” Lala explained in her confessional.

Recognizing that her actions would come with consequences, the mother of one decided to come clean during a girls’ night out a few nights later. She broke the news to Ariana Madix, sharing that she had reached out to the woman who had an affair with her ex-boyfriend while they were still together.

Ariana appeared both shocked and perplexed, particularly because at the time of their night out, it had been only a few months since Raquel and Sandoval’s affair had come to light.

“It is kind of wild if you think about it, because for maybe a year, year-and-a-half, if anybody interacted with Lala’s ex, she was ready to like murder him and cut his balls off, ‘f–k you,’” Ariana said in her confessional.

Ariana contended that Raquel should have known better than to engage in a hookup with Sandoval. However, Lala persisted, emphasizing that she understood the emotions and isolation that Raquel might have been going through.

“For me, I worry that there are certain people in this world that look at those types of conversations as like a foot in the door, and there’s no foot to be had,” Ariana told Lala.

Lala reassured Ariana that she remained on her side and had no intentions of causing any distress. This seemed to bring comfort to Madix, as they concluded the scene with a hug.

Lala and Ariana continue to maintain a close friendship, as evidenced by Lala’s support for Ariana during her Broadway debut on Monday night.

On the other hand, Lala and Raquel never had an on-camera conversation, as Raquel confirmed in August 2023 that she would not be returning to the popular Bravo series.
