Sofia Vergara SNAPS on Kelly Clarkson for Insulting Her Looks!
Sofia Vergara clashed with Kelly Clarkson Wednesday, while explaining all that went into transforming herself into Griselda Blanco for her upcoming Netflix series, “Griselda.”
“The Kelly Clarkson Show” posted a clip on TikTok of Vergara describing all that was involved in prepping for her role as “The Cocaine Godmother.”
The “American Idol” alum said during the show—“This is incredible… I feel like they only changed your nose or something.”
Vergara fired back — “What?”
Clarkson tried to elaborate but Vergara just wasn’t having it.
The “Modern Family” alum interrupted—“Are you crazy?”
Clarkson replied, “Whatever they did though, it looks slight,” but was swiftly shut down by the “America’s Got Talent” judge.
“No Kelly, it was hours,” she said, prompting laughter from the audience.
Clarkson continued to downplay Vergara’s shifted appearance, but her guest continued to hit back.
Vergara exclaimed — “It was a wig! Shut up. It was a wig. It was a lot!”
Clarkson and Vergara shared a laugh as the actress continued to describe how she morphed into her latest character.
“They did a lot to me! It was teeth. It was wig. It was nose. It was plastic from here to here,” Vergara explained against a video clip that featured the process behind her hair and makeup.
Clarkson tried to smooth things over, pointing out that the hairstylists and makeup artists “did such a good job that it looks seamless.”
Vergara spoke to People ahead of the premiere, explaining how she managed to shift from a comedic sitcom personality to the notorious Medellín Cartel leader.
“It was a lot of work, it was a lot of preparation,” she explained. “I had to really investigate what it meant to be a woman in that era. A mother, a Colombian woman… that turned into this monster. So, it was a really difficult task for me to understand it.”
Sofia Vergara pointed to similarities between herself and her character, noting — “We are both Colombian, we are both immigrants, we are both mothers, we are both women. So, I did relate to her a lot.”
Other “Griselda” cast members include Alberto Guerra as Dario Sepúlveda, Christian Tappan as Arturo Mesa, Martín Rodríguez as Rivi Ayala, Juliana Aidén Martinez as June Hawkins and Vanessa Ferlito as Carmen Gutiérrez.
The Netflix limited series premiered this week.
