‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Recap: Wendy Continues to Fuel Tension With Nneka While Ashley and Gizelle Partner up! 

Sunday’s all-new episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac starts with Wendy Osefo and Eddie orchestrating a delightful birthday surprise for their son, Karter, who’s celebrating his momentous tenth birthday.

Meanwhile, Ashley Darby and Gizelle Bryant are business new partners. The ladies discuss the topic of exercising sans underwear, revealing Ashley’s boundless motivation fueled by athleisure fashion, while Gizelle set her sights on becoming the next sensation. Ashley, with an eye for chic and stylish athleisure wear, is passionately dedicated to maintaining her budget while embarking on this venture. In a candid confessional, she bravely admits to having relinquished control of her financial decisions, having relied on the financial support of her husband, Michael Darby. A poignant flashback to the closure of Oz serves as a poignant reminder, prompting Ashley to realize that it’s high time she takes charge of her financial destiny and makes her mark in the world of business.

The two discuss fabrics and Ashley reveals she puts extra fabric in her leggings to soak up her “extra-ness.” Grossed out, Gizelle moves on and we head to Karen Huger’s house as she visits with her cousin David and Aunt Val.

Karen gives us a flashback of her family tree as she discusses the plans for her grandmother’s house. Karen’s glad the family’s on board and David brings up land percentage, as Karen brainstorms how to renovate. Val doesn’t want Karen to do anything freaky, but Karen ensures Val she won’t do anything, but create a weed farm. 

The next day, Mia Thornton’s meeting Robyn Dixon for a day out. After greeting, Mia makes a joke about keeping her man as the receptionist give Mia and Robyn socks to change into. In a white room with two awkward chairs, the ladies sit back as the receptionist discuss the benefits of the salt room. Mia’s been through a lot and is trying any holistic wellness to stay grounded. Robyn inquiries about Candiace Dillard-Bassett’s Mother’s Day Brunch and Mia complimented the event while wishing Robyn was there. Mia tells Robyn about Karen’s new property and the chance to visit Surry county. Robyn’s grateful she wasn’t invited but Mia burst her bubble real quick; and told Robyn of Karen plans to pull names out of a hat. 

“This is not the lottery” Mia jokes as Robyn recounts a lunch with Karen. Robyn tells Mia in the midst of showing Robyn a picture of Rayvin, Karen accidentally landed on a picture of Robyn with her family! Robyn reveals this is the first time she’s said anything and Mia’s all ears for this tea. Mia laughs as Robyn confirms that’s when she knew Karen is obsessed with her and producers give us a flashback of Karen’s accusations towards Robyn. Mia jokes that Karen may have a shrine of Robyn before moving onto discussing financial troubles. Mia tells Robyn before the crisis; she obtained a divorce lawyer to leave Gordon Thornton. 

Robyn likes Mia and Gordon together, but that doesn’t stop Robyn from shading Mia in her confessional. Robyn thinks Mia can’t sit back in luxury being married to Gordon but Mia switches tactics to asks Robyn if she and Juan Dixon are in therapy. Robyn says no and Mia’s surprised since the couple is going through a rough patch. Robyn doesn’t see issues within the marriage, but wants to enjoy life more with Juan. Mia questions Robyn about Juan being let go and rolls her eyes at Robyn’s constant defense of Juan. Later, Wendy and Eddie are having date night and are ready to eat some Jamaican cuisine. After ordering, Eddie asks Wendy about her show and Wendy admits to being stressed out. 

Wendy’s working with her new producers but is feeling overwhelmed by putting the show together. Drinks come out as Eddie cheers to “living life on our own terms” as Eddie talks about his new business. Happy Eddie is Eddie’s new business venture and since the state of Maryland legalized weed, Eddie decided to get his foot in the door. Wendy recognizes this is the first time she and Eddie are knee deep in new projects, but the two are happy to build up together. Wendy complains to Eddie about sleeping alone and Eddie wants Wendy to be his new spokesperson. 

Eddie tells producers about his mother’s reaction to the new business and that he was pleasantly surprised by her support. Wendy wants to make sure sex remains fresh in their marriage and Eddie ensures his wife he’ll do whatever it takes. Karen and Ray Huger are having dinner and Karen gets a contact high from the weed in the air. After ordering, Karen complains to Ray about ordering from the Happy Hour menu before ordering dinner. Karen and Ray compliment each other and Karen talks about her doctors orders as Ray encourages Karen to slow down. A flashback shows Karen revealing her 5% blockage as she lets Ray know she needs a fitness trainer. 

Ray questions if the trainer has to be a man and Karen says yes as she claims needing someone to focus on. Karen tells Ray about taking the women to Surry county and how she put the names she wanted in a hat, instead of all the ladies. Karen’s inviting Gizelle, Candiace, Ashley, and Wendy; however, Gizelle declined Karen’s visit without an excuse.

Nneka and Iyke Ihim are unpacking as Nneka complains about living with her husband. Nneka’s used to being long-distance with her man and Nneka’s started to get annoyed. Gizelle stops by in a mini dress to chat and Nneka gives Gizelle a tour of the house. Gizelle likes what she sees and inquiries about the baby making progress. 

A flashback shows Nneka and Mia going to the doctors for a second opinion as Nneka considers her next option. Gizelle and Nneka laugh, as Iyke finds his work badge and Nneka jokes about Iyke messing up her coins. After Iyke leaves, Gizelle asks if Karen’s visited and Nneka admits Karen showed her around Potomac. A flashback shows Karen hyping Potomac up as Nneka looks on in awe. Nneka tells Gizelle that Karen tried her by claiming Nneka lives in North Potomac. Gizelle reiterates the zip code while shading Karen for being a renter. Going outside, Gizelle approves of the house and encourages Nneka to meet her neighbors as Charisse Jackson-Jordan arrives. 

Nneka thinks Charisse is fabulous and lets us know that she’s hung out with Charisse a few times. Gizelle tells Charisse about Karen’s shade towards Nneka and Charisse is all too eager to jump in. Repeating what Gizelle said, Gizelle was about to go in before receiving the invitation from Karen. Gizelle reiterates Karen’s plan for Surry county while explaining why she won’t spend four hours on a bus with Candiace or Wendy. Gizelle’s mad Karen doesn’t get it as a flashback shows Candiace getting into Gizelle at the reunion. Gizelle’s worried about her safety but Karen’s not letting the trip go to waste and ends up inviting everyone. Karen increased her liability insurance and Gizelle encourages Nneka to make up her mind. 

Everyone agrees but Robyn, Gizelle, and Mia’s due to being upset she wasn’t originally invited. Karen tells Mia to get over it and thirteen hours later, the ladies are meeting at Karen’s for Surry county. Candiace brought another pair of panties in case the heat gets to them, and Wendy displays a fake smile as Nneka pulls up. Boarding the bus, Karen tells the ladies about her intention for the trip, while questioning what Mia’s problem was on the text thread. Nneka shares Mia’s sentiment and explains how it appeared from the other end. Karen takes the L on that one as Candiace begins complaining about the ride. 

Wendy tells the ladies about Eddie’s event as Karen wonders if everyone’s invited. Wendy tells Karen it’s Eddie’s event as Ashley compliments Eddie in her confessional. Producers ask Wendy if Nneka and Iyke are invited but Wendy doesn’t answer as Nneka invites the ladies to her unpacking party. Nneka invites everyone as Ashley rubs the invite in Wendy’s face, but Wendy ignores her. Karen pushes the ladies to move forward as the ladies begin to joke about Ashley’s bladder. Ashley lets the girls know about GnA and of course Wendy and Candiace think it’s a joke. 

Ashley thinks Candiace and Wendy are bothered but Wendy shades the duo on their wardrobe. Karen calls Wendy a mess as the bus stops for a bathroom break as time moves on slowly. After the break, Candiace has a scratch off as the rest of the ladies munch on their snacks. Wendy and Candiace enjoy gas station margaritas as the ladies finally arrive in Surry. Karen can feel the ancestors as she walks in and gives the ladies a tour before meeting the rest of the family. Val shows the ladies a few family photos as the group thank the family for their hospitality. Karen introduces the group to a Reverend and a few other people as Karen reflects on her history. 

After prayer, the group changes in their Surry gowns as Karen leads the way to the work. Karen instructs the ladies to clear the debris around the tree but Ashley’s not with the snakes nearby. Wendy screams at a potential snake and before we know it everyone’s running! Candiace and Ashley make a wish on a “wishbone,” and the ladies have a group hug after the job is done.

Karen wants to show off Val’s house and the ladies race across the way as Karen explains that Val move far. Sitting down, Ashley thanks Karen for the trip as Wendy thanks Karen for being included first. Ashley’s grateful she and Candiace shared a moment, and hopes this can be an example to Nneka and Wendy. 

Ashley see’s the potential, but Nneka and Wendy remain silent as the group eats lunch. Wendy thanks Karen again before bringing up her family and sisterhood, before reiterating the issues between her and Nneka. Nneka denies talking about Ivy but admits to calling Wendy a b*tch because Wendy cursed at her, as well.

Nneka extends an olive branch by inviting Wendy to her housewarming but Wendy has no interest in fixing things and wants to keep the drama going.

Karen, however, wants Wendy to remain open. Wendy see’s a lack of accountability as Nneka tries to explain herself but Wendy smugly smiles and walks away.
