The View’s Sunny Hostin Flips Out After She’s Age-Shamed For Wearing Teenage Clothing!
Sunny Hostin hit back at critics who have called out her fashion game, during Tuesday’s episode of The View.
“I’m 55. I get criticized often on these stupid social media things about, ‘That’s too young for you.’ Well guess what? I don’t care!” Hostin said as she looked directly into the camera.
The panelist insisted that she “like[s] to wear what I want to wear,” despite catching heat on social media for dressing in youthful ensembles.
“My earrings are too young for me, my outfits are too young for me, my hair is too young for me, my makeup is too young for me,” she said, mimicking outspoken internet trolls.
Hostin looked straight into the camera, repeating—“Guess what again? I don’t care!”
She added — “I feel better than I’ve ever felt in my entire life, and I’m 55.”
Members of the studio audience applauded Hostin and co-host, Alyssa Farrah Griffin, agreed that she looked “amazing.”
Social media users were particularly vocal under one of Hostin’s September Instagram posts, which featured the host wearing shorts paired with a denim corset top.
The snap invited a flood of negative reactions, with many declaring that the outfit was not age appropriate.
One person wrote — “No, no Sunny. They fit and all that’s fine but not a good look for you. Too much/ too little for your age. 🤔🤔.”
Another quipped — “Too short. Too old!”
Many users chimed in on the length of “The View” personality’s shorts.
One fan asked — “A little too short???”
Another declared—“Waaaaaay to [sic] short.”
A third person advised—“Please stick to your long dresses.”
Hostin, who has since limited the number of comments on her Instagram posts, did not reply to the negative fan feedback.
The daytime cast approached the topic of body positivity after Selena Gomez discussed her own physical transformation over the years, via a series of photos posted on Instagram. The singer shared an image of a bikini selfie shot when she was 21 and a second captured at the age of 30 on her Instagram Stories Monday night.
She wrote on the first photo — “Today I realized I will never look like this again…”
Gomez captioned the second pic — “I’m not perfect, but I am proud to be who I am… Sometimes I forget it’s ok to be me.”
