NeNe Leakes Supporting Kim Zolciak During Her Messy Divorce from Kroy Biermann

NeNe Leakes has seemingly made amends with Kim Zolciak, as she recently revealed how she was getting along amid her messy divorce from estranged husband, Kroy Biermann. NeNe gave an update on her former Real Housewives of Atlanta frenemy, who has been navigating a tumultuous breakup from the former NFL player since May.

TMZ caught up with NeNe at LAX on Thursday, January 18. She told the outlet — “I saw her in a restaurant a couple of days ago. She said she was having a hard time.”

The 56-year-old added that Kim, “Looked great. She looks really good,” despite the rough circumstances.

NeNe added — “Other than that we just kept it positive. Nobody ever wants to see a family breakup. There are kids involved.”

Kim and Kroy share four children, Kroy, 12, Kash, 11, and 10-year-old twins, Kane and Kaia. Kroy adopted Kim’s adult daughters, Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 22, after the pair wed, in 2011.

“I hope they can figure it out whether it’s together or apart,” NeNe said of the estranged couple. “Because your happiness and peace are the most important.”

News of the couple’s split broke in May. Kim, 45, walked back her divorce plan in July, asking a judge to dismiss her complaint. Kroy, 38, filed for divorce a second time a month later, asking for sole legal and physical custody of the four minor children.

Kim and Kroy have been slammed with multiple lawsuits, including a massive tax lien by the I.R.S. The couple was slapped with a whopping $1,147,834.67 tax bill shortly before they announced their breakup. Kroy was later hit with a lawsuit over debt racked up in a Bahamas casino and an outstanding bill tied to a car lease. Kim is also being sued by Saks/Capital One for neglecting to pay $150k in credit card debt and fees. The former “Don’t Be Tardy” star was also ordered to pay $230k after she defaulted on a home equity line of credit.

Meanwhile, police have been dispatched to the family home on multiple occasions to break up marital skirmishes, as the ongoing divorce rages on in court.

In September, Kroy told the Fulton County Superior Court that the duo was “financially destitute,” due to Kim’s “reckless spending habits and love for online gambling.” He asked for permission to sell their family home as “the only asset the parties have is the marital residence and they are facing foreclosure on the home for a second time.” The pair listed the mansion for $5.5 million, in October. They have since slashed the price to $4.5 million, but have failed to attract a buyer.

Earlier this month, Kroy asked the court to determine a division of assets amid the ongoing divorce war. Kroy pointed to his soon-to-be ex’s “expansive collection” of almost new designer bags, shoes and clothes that she had been selling online.

The motion clarified that Kim and Kroy had established separate bank accounts post-split, after previously sharing access to only joint accounts. Kroy asked the court to classify the ex-couple’s assets as marital or personal, and requested that Kim be required to cover all attorney fees and additional costs tied to the filing of the motion.
