’90 Day Fiance’ Star Citra’s Father Warns of Returning Her to Indonesia Should Sam End Up in Jail

Sam Wilson was put on notice by his future father-in-law during Sunday’s episode of the 90 Day Fiancé. Sam’s fiancée, Citra’s father, Herman, threatened to bring his daughter back to Indonesia if Sam’s drug case landed him behind bars.

Sam came clean to Herman during the episode, admitting that he might  have to serve jail time because he blew off submitting his diversion paperwork by the stated deadline. Herman, who was clearly disappointed to hear the news, informed Sam that he would take his daughter home if the worst-case scenario played out.

Sam promised Herman — “The only thing I’m addicted to is marrying your daughter.”

Sam spoke out about his drug arrest in a previous episode, during which he explained that he was caught in possession of an unlabeled bottle of Suboxone, a brand name for the drug buprenorphine, after being pulled over by police.

The drug is typically used to treat opioid use disorder, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Sam was arrested on March 27, 2023, and slammed with felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of buprenorphine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia charges, per a Starcasm report.

A court docket dated June 13, 2023 confirmed that the TLC personality planned to apply for a diversion program. The intervention program is designed to “redirect youths away from formal processing in the juvenile justice system, while still holding them accountable for their actions,” according to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Program.

The Missouri native neglected to update his fiancée on his legal predicament before she moved across the globe in pursuit of her happily-ever-after. He explained that he stayed quiet out of fear that she’d change her mind about moving to be with him in the United States. Sam dropped the bomb upon  her arrival, and Citra was immediately distressed over her uncertain future. She admitted that she would consider going home if her groom landed in jail.

“I’ve been really patient and forgive him this whole time about his problem,” she told producers in a December episode. “But it really make me angry because he lied about the paperwork to me. And that means I lied to my dad about his paperwork too.”

Sam’s felony cocaine possession charge was dismissed in June. The diversion was granted in October, but the court is “awaiting signatures” according to the court docket. Sam’s next court appearance is set for January 26.
