‘sMothered’ Newbies Catherine and Gabriella Vigorito Exposed as Racist!
An anonymous Reddit user sparked chatter about sMothered newcomers, Catherine Vigorito and Gabriella Vigorito, as Season 5 continues to unfold on TLC.
Catherine and Gabriella are the newest “sMothered” mother/daughter team, but one Reddit user is less than impressed with the cast additions.

The user ripped into Gabriella, slamming the 23-year-old and her “creepy” mother.
In a post titled “Gabriella Vigorito Intel,” Reddit user, Due-Advertising-8513 wrote — “why does she have such a big following? grew up with her. her & her family are dreadfully racist and are extremely privileged and snobby. it sucks to see somebody so shallow / irrelevant / entitled have such a vast following. doing what? promoting fake designer stuff and putting together the worst outfits ever? not to mention her desperate thirst for publicity with her feature on TLC’s show smothered with her creepy ass mom.”
The user continued — “i am being such a hater i know. a part of me is happy she found her path in life. however i can’t lie and say she deserves any of this. she’s always been a clout chaser & racist bully.”
One critic chimed in under the Reddit thread — “What’s worse is they replaced Dawn and Cher with this racist knock off and her mom. Looks like shit season.”
Gabriella has struggled to connect with prospective love interests, seemingly because of her pushy mother.
She told NeedToKnow.co.uk — “My mom is very protective over me, so it’s caused some problems [in relationships] because she wants me to always be hanging out with her – no one else.”
She added — “When I have boyfriends, mom says we are in the ‘love triangle.’”
Gabriella explained that potential suitors are intimidated by her 56-year-old mom, a former Miss Connecticut USA winner who is coaching her daughter to follow in her footsteps.
She clarified that she wouldn’t change a thing about her mother, declaring — “I love being my mom’s twin, it makes me feel really great. She is so beautiful, and I look up to her – she’s my biggest inspiration.”
Catherine referred to her her middle daughter as “my twin and best friend,” and gushed over Gabriella in a Season 5 preview clip.
She said — “You know how you can kind of just look inside someone’s soul and just have that connection? We had that from the day she was born, even more than my other two daughters. It was just something so heavenly. She was like an angel.”
Gabriella said of her mom — “I literally have an entire poster blown up of her in my room. I mean, she’s Miss Connecticut USA. Imagine growing up and your mom being Miss Connecticut USA — those are some shoes to fill!”
