Kody Brown Declares ‘Sister Wives’ HIS Show and He Needs the Paycheck!

Fans were not happy to see Kody and Robyn Brown featured during Christine Brown’s wedding special, “Christine and David’s Wedding.” Many viewers took to social media to ask why TLC would include Christine’s ex and his one remaining wife in a special celebrating  Christine’s big day. 

Christine, 51, tied the knot with Utah construction executive, David Woolley, 59, on October 7, 2023.

Kody purportedly did not expect to be included in the special as he was not invited to the nuptials, nor was his wife, Robyn, or his first ex-wife, Meri Brown. 

A source dished the real reason behind Kody’s presence on the wedding special to the U.S. Sun.  

The insider told the outlet — “Sister Wives is Kody’s show. He’s head of the family and in the beginning, he was head of the family’s contract.”

The source continued — “He was the one who initiated the show. It will forever be his show. He’s being kind to allow Christine on the show at this point, but as far as the special goes, he had to be part of it because he knows it brings in money.”

The snitch pointed out that Kody still “needed a paycheck,” despite the plural family collapse. 

The insider explained — “This is his life and it’s what is helping him pay the bills.”

Christine and Kody announced their split in November 2021. Meri and Kody’s second wife, Janelle, revealed that they were leaving Kody in December 2022. 

Kody shared during the wedding special — “Just because I’ve been angry for three years doesn’t mean that I can’t be happy for [David and Christine].”

Kody’s rollercoaster emotions tied to the family breakdown were discussed during Season 18, including the issues that spilled over in his marriage to Robyn.

Kody and Robyn appeared carefree during their featured interview spots, and even shared an awkward smooch. A source implied that their behavior during the special was misleading. 

The insider said — “He’s still pretty angry and he is still very different.”

The source added — “People are going to downplay it and say that Robyn’s being dramatic, but she’s not. He’s still finding his way back to some kind of joy.”

The tipster claimed that Kody and Robyn were “not really happy.”

“They don’t have the same life that they had before,” the insider alleged.  “They’re used to love and friends and family and all that joy, and they don’t really have that. They just have their little circle right now.”

The tipster noted that “there’s a lot more work that needs to be done to fix it,” as the couple works to strengthen their relationship. 

“He has it all with Robyn. He doesn’t need anything else,” the source added.  “And he’s not really serving God anymore because it’s all broken. He feels that he’s failed that.”
