On Friday, The Ashley broke the news that Eason had been slammed with an “assault by strangulation,” charge following a January 10 court date. The new charge came after Eason was charged with misdemeanor child abuse, several months ago.

In October, Eason was formally charged with child abuse in connection to an incident involving Jenelle’s 14-year-old son, Jace Evans. North Carolina authorities charged David after the teen ran away from the family home on three separate occasions between August and September 2023. Jace was hospitalized and underwent a mental evaluation after CPS intervened. He told police that he ran away from his mother and stepfather’s home because he had been assaulted by Eason.

Court documents stated — “[David] unlawfully and willingly did, being the parents of Jace V Evans, who was a child, less than 16 years of age, inflict physical injury on that child. The physical injury inflicted caused marks on [Jace’s] right arm, and left and right side of the neck, and was inflicted by other than accidental means.”

Eason spoke out via Facebook, declaring his innocence and denying that rumored Ring camera footage of the alleged assault existed.

“I know you’re probably still wearing your Covid mask and waiting for aliens to fall out the sky but I can promise you one thing, THERE IS NO RING CAMERA FOOTAGE!” Eason wrote in a Facebook post. “If there was it would just prove my innocence…”

On Monday, Eason reiterated that he was innocent.

“You can pray for my downfall all you want but you’re only hurting yourself,” he wrote. “I will always stand strong because I’ve always done what’s right, no matter what you heard. So not only do your words not hurt me but they give me even more encouragement to be the best man I can be for my family!”

Eason’s critics were quick to point out that he had no job, which sparked a response from his sister, April. April took to the comment section to defend her brother, insisting that he actually did earn an income.

“What is the definition of a job?” April rhetorically asked. “Lemme tell you…provide services-get paid…. he does that…BOOM…job.”

Eason, 35, reminded one user that he had been “charged, not convicted” of assault and child abuse. He informed another concerned follower—“I did get counseling, they said I don’t need counseling.”

Jenelle, 31, delivered a fiery defense of her husband on social media on Friday. She reportedly blasted county officials, via phone calls, for not informing her of the newest charge.

The former MTV star wrote on Facebook—“I’m over here minding my own business, trying to post positive content and people are constantly trying to bring me down..”

The mom of three continued — “I live in the most corrupt place in the world. It’s funny how bias people are against us….when the truth comes out I hope you feel stupid. I can not stand where I live. The feds should be looking into all the corruption I’ve dealt with for years with the law enforcement of North Carolina. Definitely moving when all of this is said and done. Can’t wait. #FreshStart #FamilyFirst”
