Kyle Richards Regrets Pushing Her Lesbian Side Chick Morgan Wade on ‘RHOBH’ Viewers
Kyle Richards regrets dragging Morgan Wade into the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” spotlight.
“She’s an artist, you know? She just wants to make music and all of a sudden she was thrust into this like, world of gossip and tabloids and traveling and having paparazzi take pictures of her,” Kyle said during an Amazon Live session on Tuesday.
The Bravo star added of the country music singer — “She just doesn’t like any of that.”
The 55-year-old reality star said that Morgan, 29, doesn’t like “attention” or being “talked about.”
“She just wants to make music and all of a sudden I had a lot of guilt, you know, that I put her in this position,” she explained.
Kyle admitted that she asked the singer to perform at her filmed event to raise awareness about suicide, in honor of her late best friend, Lorene Shea. The performance, which was featured on Wednesday’s episode, only boosted Morgan’s presence on the show and put more attention on her rumored romance with the RHOBH star.
“She would tell me, ‘It’s not your fault, it’s not your fault.’ Of course I feel bad because it gave her anxiety, you know?” Kyle continued. “Seeing these headlines, and like I said, just thrust into the spotlight brought her anxiety.”
She added — “Like myself, she suffers from anxiety, so I felt terrible to have put her in that position.”
Kyle said that while her friend had “kind of adjusted” to all the media attention, it was still “all very new to her.”
Kyle explained how the country artist landed center stage on Wednesday’s episode.
“She came on as a favor to me because my best friend since I [was] 7 years old passed away. She committed suicide May 1st [2022], and it was a really important event for me,” she said of Shea.
“It was a celebration of life and I just wanted to bring more awareness and have suicide be more of an open conversation because it’s such a taboo topic,” she said. “So I really wanted to do an important episode to honor Lorene and just to bring light to suicide and what it does to people and help people that are struggling.”
Kyle went on to say that Morgan knew that she’d been grieving over the loss of her friend, noting that the singer’s music touches on the difficult subject.
She said — “I asked her [to perform] and she said ‘yes,’ she’d be happy to and she came and sang at this event as a favor to me.”
Kyle and Morgan sparked romance rumors in the wake of the Bravo star’s separation from her husband of 27 years, Mauricio Umansky. The estranged couple confirmed reports of the split, in July. Kyle denied that she and Morgan shared anything more than a friendship.
Kyle and Mauricio share three daughters together, Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 16. Kyle also has a 35-year-old daughter from her marriage to first husband, Guraish Aldjufrie.
