EXCLUSIVE: Thomas Ravenel Responds to Hooking Up with Olivia Flowers “She Used Me!”
Olivia Flowers disclosed a past sexual encounter with Thomas Ravenel, and All About The Tea has an exclusive response from the former South Carolina State Treasurer.
The bombshell revelation was exposed during the Southern Charm Season 9 reunion on Thursday, January 11, while Olivia Flowers was in a heated discussion with her former best friend, Taylor Ann Green, about Olivia’s involvement with Austen Kroll. Amid their argument, Taylor let it slip about Olivia’s previous tryst with Thomas.
“Forgive as you would want to be forgiven,” she vaguely told Olivia as the rest of the cast and host Andy Cohen looked confused.
Olivia, 31, fully aware of what Taylor was hinting at, confronted her ex-friend directly, saying:
“Go ahead and say it. I already see what you’re trying to do. You’ve been hanging this over my head. I wanna see it. Say it. Say it.”
Andy urged Taylor to clarify her insinuation, and amidst this, Craig Conover interjected, exclaiming, “Well, just say it now. I mean we’re here.”
“The whole Thomas situation,” Taylor, 29, said while smirking.
As the camera moved to capture the reactions of various cast members, who appeared astonished by the unfolding news, Andy sought confirmation by asking, “Thomas Ravenel?”
“Yeah,” Olivia, 31, replied. “I was fresh out of college, 20 years old, dumb drunken night, one time, had a hookup with T-Rav, and I wanted to take to my grave. Who wouldn’t?”
Olivia recalled the previous year’s reunion, where Madison LeCroy was the first to mention rumors about her and Thomas, who is three decades her senior and has two children with Kathryn Dennis, a close friend and former co-star of Olivia. Back then, Olivia firmly refuted any romantic involvement with Thomas, claiming they were merely family friends. Taylor, too, had supported Olivia during that time, defending her then-friend.
“Right afterwards, I sat down with Taylor, and I said, ‘I appreciate you taking up for me, but you should know something did happen, and she’s the only person I told on earth about that, and here you are sitting now trying to use it against me,” Olivia continued.
Andy, looking puzzled, questioned why Olivia would need to seek “forgiveness” for an encounter with Thomas that happened over ten years prior.
“I mean, same situation,” Taylor argued. “Kathryn is a friend and confidant and you lied about it, so why didn’t you go to Kathryn and say I’m sorry?”
Olivia clapped back that she didn’t even “know Kathryn then” and met her “after it happened.”
“You told me it was five years ago after baby number two,” Taylor claimed.
Andy inquired if Thomas was in a relationship with Kathryn at the time of their hookup. Olivia responded that she did “not believe so,” prompting Andy to question again why the hookup was considered a “bad” thing.
“Because, she’s just been sitting there chomping at the bit to use it against me,” Olivia said of Taylor. “Not only have you proven yourself to be a s—t friend, you’re a s—t human, too.”
Andy proposed a break for the group, following which Olivia exited the stage, directing two expletives towards Taylor.
In an exclusive conversation with the editor of All About The Tea, Thomas Ravenel acknowledged that he did engage in sexual relations with the then 24-year-old aspiring actress. However, he contested certain assertions made by the Southern Charm star during the Season 9 reunion.
“I was in Atlanta the weekend of January 14, 2017 for my nephew’s wedding. Olivia was living in Atlanta at the time pursuing her acting career. She was 24 years old (at the time) NOT 20, like she claimed on the reunion.” Thomas told All About The Tea exclusively.
He added, “I will say, she conducted herself as a classy lady that night. I would have never acknowledged having sex with her until they brought me up at the reunion.”
Based on information from Google, Olivia Flowers’ birth date is April 27, 1992. This indicates that in January 2017, she would have been 24 years, 8 months, and 18 days old. This contradicts her reunion statement of being “fresh out of college, 20 years old,” at that time.
Thomas described the circumstances that led to his date with Olivia in 2017.
“So I reached out to her and to my surprise she was very inviting. We went on a date and hung out at various bars around Atlanta. It was a fun evening and one thing led to another after she invited me to her condo in downtown Atlanta.” He added, “After that night, I never called her again. It was a one time deal.”
Thomas expressed his belief that Olivia used him as a means to gain access to Southern Charm producers and the cast. At the time, Olivia did not have a connection to anyone on the Bravo reality series.
“She used me! Olivia was in Atlanta pursuing an acting career and she wanted to get on that show (Southern Charm), that’s why she befriended me.”
Thomas clarified that at the time of his encounter with Olivia, he and Kathryn were completely separated and no longer in a relationship.
“When I hooked up with Olivia in 2017, Kathyrn and I were long done for years and I had full custody of my kids after a court battle.”
As exclusively reported, in January 2023, Thomas was awarded permanent sole custody of the two kids he shares with ex.
Thomas expressed his displeasure with the show’s decision to involve him in their drama for the sake of boosting ratings.
“Why do the always drag my name into their mess to get the ratings up?” Thomas questioned.
The South Carolina businessman was upset with Olivia for disrespecting him by saying, “A hookup with T-Rav, and I wanted to take to my grave. Who wouldn’t?”
“I gave a moving speech at her brother’s (Conner Flowers) funeral. I have never been disrespectful to her, so I don’t know why she felt the need to be rude to me. That was a low blow and uncalled for. I wish they would stop using me to drive ratings up.”
Thomas was a cast member of Southern Charm from its debut in 2014 until his departure in Season 5 in 2018.
