‘RHOSLC’ Season 4 Scored Blockbuster Ratings With 2 Million Viewers … Thanks to Monica Garcia!
The finale of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4 concluded with exceptional drama, attracting 2 million viewers across all platforms within a three-day span.
This viewership milestone makes it the most-watched episode of the series since its inaugural episode on November 11, 2020, as reported by Variety.
Out of the 2 million viewers who tuned in for the finale, 1.1 million belonged to the crucial 18-49 demographic. This surge in viewership led to season highs in linear viewing for both the 18-49 demographic and total viewers, along with achieving series highs in Peacock viewing, excluding Peacock-First originals.
The generally subdued fourth season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City concluded with a dramatic finale during the housewives’ trip to Bermuda. In a surprising twist, Heather Gay revealed to the group that the newest member, Monica Garcia, was the mastermind behind a Housewives-centric social media account, Reality Von Tease. This account has reportedly launched attacks on several members of their circle, spreading various rumors about them and a former member, Jen Shah.
Although it’s not a direct comparison, the ratings for the fourth season finale of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City are slightly below those of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 reunion finale. The New Jersey reunion finale garnered an average of 3 million total viewers and 1.5 million viewers in the key demographic, measured over a week of delayed, multiplatform viewing.
During Part 1 of the Season 4 reunion, Heather Gay confessed that she had real worries about the season’s success following Jen Shah’s exit. Jen, also known as prisoner #37357-509, is currently serving time for fraud in federal prison. On the Bravo reality series, Jen was known for her erratic behavior and knack for stirring the pot. Her involvement in drama was a significant factor in captivating viewers, who consistently tuned in to witness the unfolding chaos.
“I was worried that, the effect that Jen had, that people would want that type of level of, like, drama and toxicity and just craziness and that they might tune out if they didn’t see it,” Heather stated during the Season 4 reunion. “But, we’re excited to get free of all of that. We’re excited for a chance to prove ourselves. And show our friendships without that in the mix.”
The success of the season, contrary to Heather’s initial concerns, was largely credited to the addition of Jen Shah’s former assistant and RHOSLC newcomer, Monica Garcia.
Monica infused the show with her vibrant Latin flair, stirring up dynamics among her castmates. The season finale put RHOSLC squarely in the Hollywood spotlight with the bombshell disclosure that Monica was the force behind an internet troll account. This account, according to her castmates, engaged in cyberbullying the cast. The explosive finale drew reactions from numerous Hollywood A-listers.
According to NBCUniversal, across linear, digital, and streaming platforms, the fourth season of the show has garnered 2.4 million total viewers over an 11-week period. Of this total, 1.4 million viewers fall within the key demographic. This impressive viewership puts the fourth season on track to be the most-watched season of the show yet.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion Part 2 airs on January 16, at 8 p.m. EST, on Bravo.
