Real Housewives of New Jersey star Joe Gorga is a sore loser, who charged a referee and teen opponent after his son Gino Gorga loss a wrestling match. The altercation led to Joe Gorga’s ejection from the high school gym.
TMZ obtained a video of the incident, which took place at Parsippany Hills High School in New Jersey. In the footage below, Joe Gorga is seen angrily approaching the referee and his son’s opponent following the conclusion of Gino’s match, where he was pinned by his opponent.
Joe’s sudden reaction triggered a swift intervention by staff members and other parents, preventing the situation from escalating into a physical altercation. The referee, clearly displeased, blew his whistle and repeatedly directed Joe to leave the gym for the rest of the wrestling events.
According to the witness, Gino’s rival on that day forcefully slammed him to the mat twice, and after being announced the winner, shot a disrespectful look towards Joe.
The witness added that the young wrestler taunted Joe by sticking out his tongue, which Joe perceived as a direct provocation or insult. Joe’s representative has confirmed this version of events.

Days after the incident, Joe’s representative spoke to TMZ, explaining that Joe felt the referee had made several unfair calls and that Gino’s opponent was behaving inappropriately, at least from Joe’s perspective. The rep emphasized that Joe did not intend to harm anyone or become physical but was simply overwhelmed by his emotions.
Despite his outburst, Joe says he’s proud of how his son handled the situation, deeming Gino a ‘class act’ in contrast to his own emotional reaction. Eyewitnesses at the event confirmed to TMZ that Joe was immediately removed from the gym and left without causing further issues, allowing the competition to continue.
This episode wasn’t the first instance of Joe losing his temper. In June 2022, Joe engaged in a heated argument with a tenant over unpaid rent, as captured in footage obtained by TMZ. The dispute occurred in a parking lot, where Joe, sitting in his car, confronted the tenant. Joe soon exited his vehicle, approaching the tenant’s car and hurling insults, accusing the tenant of being a ‘f–king loser’ and not paying rent for ‘four f–king years.’
During their exchange, the tenant argued that he only owed rent from January to the present, citing New Jersey’s COVID-19 relief program. Joe retorted with further profanities, accusing the tenant of ‘selling drugs’ in his building, which the tenant denied.
The argument continued with the tenant dismissing Joe’s claims of years of unpaid rent, suggesting that Joe might have misspent the money. The tenant also accused Joe of threatening him with a sledgehammer, though the video did not show Joe holding any tool.
Joe Gorga’s public outbursts, both at his son’s wrestling match and during the parking lot altercation, reflect a pattern of intense emotional reactions, drawing attention in the media and among Real Housewives of New Jersey fans.
