’90 Day Fiance’ Star Rob Accuses Sophie’s Mother of Threatening His Family and Being Violent!
Sophie Sierra’s mother, Claire, shook things up on Sunday’s episode of 90 Day Fiancé, when she visited her daughter and her American boyfriend, Rob Warne, in Los Angeles.
Sophie, 23, first connected with Rob, 32, on Instagram and later moved from London to the United States on a K-1 visa. Sophie was unimpressed with Rob’s shabby living quarters, which did not include a bathroom.
The couple briefly split earlier in the season, after Sophie busted Rob canoodling with other women online. The pair reconciled, and after Sophie informed her husband-to-be that she was bisexual, prepared for a visit from the future bride’s mother.
Claire arrived in California and immediately admitted that she was worried about seeing her daughter’s digs. She told producers that she was “dreading seeing the house” because it’s “obviously not very good.”
Claire also shared her concern over Sophie marrying an unambitious man who was not financially secure. She explained that she suspected that her daughter was “wrapped up in the whole fantasy” because Rob was an attractive guy.
She quipped — “There’s only so long you can stare at a beautiful painting before you get bored.”
After Claire checked out Rob and Sophie’s lackluster apartment, the trio began chatting about the upcoming wedding. Claire joked that she was ready to knock down Rob’s mom to secure the bridal bouquet, which led to Rob labeling his future mother-in-law “aggressive.”
Claire fired back — “I’m not aggressive,” after Sophie reminded Rob that her mother was just kidding.
“As if I’m going to be at your wedding and knock a woman to the floor,” Claire said.
Sophie reiterated that her mother’s nature was generally sarcastic and comical, before Rob noted that his remark was not meant to be taken literally.
Rob pointed out — “You guys are taking me literal. I didn’t take you literal.”
Claire doubled down, telling Rob that she took his comment as a “low-key dig.”
Rob told cameras that the exchange illustrated why he often felt “on the edge when Claire’s around.”
He went on to say that he was always worried about saying the wrong thing whenever he was around Sophie and her mother. Claire prompted Rob to speak up because his body language pointed to a seeming desire to “say something.”
Meanwhile, Sophie determined that Rob just didn’t understand her mom or her use of British humor.
Sophie asserted — “I don’t think he gets humor, full stop.”
90 Day Fiancé airs on Sundays, at 8 pm ET, on TLC.
