Raquel Leviss Slams Tom Sandoval for Playing ‘Victim’ After their Affair: ‘He Repulses Me’
Raquel Leviss has criticized Tom Sandoval for portraying himself as a victim in recent interviews, a stance she finds unconvincing and counterproductive.
On her “Rachel Goes Rogue” podcast episode on Monday, Raquel expressed her thoughts about Sandoval’s behavior since their affair was revealed 10 months ago.
“I know that he’s really trying to milk the victim role to make himself look better, I think, but in reality it’s making him look worse,” Raquel said.
She believes Sandoval’s reaction is partly due to her launching a podcast to share her perspective on the matter.
Raquel’s comments followed a playback of a clip from Sandoval’s appearance on the Two Ts in a Pod podcast. In the clip, Sandoval expressed his heartbreak over the loss of his relationship with Raquel, claiming he was “fully in love” with her. Raquel admitted that listening to the interview made her physically ill. “I’ve never had this physical reaction before, but I felt like I was gonna be sick ’cause his voice repulsed me, and I’m like, ‘OK this is a good sign,’” she shared.
While acknowledging that hearing Sandoval miss her and express love was vindicating, Raquel felt he was engaging in victim blaming and not taking responsibility for his actions. “It seemed like he really did flip on me, and he really threw me under the bus, and he was OK with it, and it seemed like he was doing a lot of victim blaming and not taking accountability and owning it and maybe standing up for me a little bit,” she explained.
Reflecting on the love Sandoval professed, Raquel questioned the sincerity of his feelings. “If he really did love me, he would probably not say something like that,” she added.
Following the affair’s exposure and the backlash, Raquel decided not to return to Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules. On New Year’s Eve, she posted on Instagram about her challenging year, which included a stint in a mental health facility after the Season 10 reunion. Raquel later detailed her experience of the affair, dubbed “Scandoval,” in an interview with Bethenny Frankel in August 2023.
The new season of Vanderpump Rules filmed without Raquel, is set to premiere on January 30th, at 8 p.m. ET, on Bravo.
