Ariana Madix Suing Tom Sandoval to Force the Sale of their L.A. Home
Ariana Madix is seeking legal intervention to ensure the sale of the Los Angeles home she shares with her ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the couple’s disagreement over the fate of the property they jointly own, despite splitting up in March 2023.
Ariana Madix, 38, is advocating for a court-ordered sale, known as a “partition by sale,” where the house, purchased together in 2019 for $2 million, would be sold, and the proceeds divided between them.
Additionally, she is requesting an “equitable allocation of the proceeds of sale,” which would cover the payment of debts secured by the property, partition costs, attorneys’ fees, and title expenses.
The documents stipulate, Ariana Madix opposes a “division in kind” arrangement, which would maintain joint ownership and allow either party to sell their share to a third party.
On Scheana Shay’s podcast “Scheananigans,” Ariana Madix discussed living in the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom home with Sandoval, 40, post-breakup. Despite the unconventional arrangement, she expressed feeling less anxious now than when they were together, as she no longer worries about Sandoval’s late-night arrivals. “I sleep a lot easier at night not giving a f— about when he’s coming in that door. … Yes, we’re in the same house but I don’t have to think, ‘He’s coming in my bedroom’ — because he’s not,” she explained. “I sleep with my door locked, just in case.”
The breakup in March 2023 came to light after Madix discovered Sandoval’s secret relationship with her former friend and co-star, Raquel Leviss.
Madix, set to perform as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway in January, has publicly shared her intention to sell the house and start anew.
In early December, Madix appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan, the 38-year-old reality TV celebrity excitedly revealed her upcoming stint as Roxie Hart in the Broadway show “Chicago” for a limited engagement.
Expressing her joy, she shared with the hosts, “It’s just the biggest dream come true. I cannot believe this is real life. I’m going to cry.” She also delved into her background in musical theater and performance during the conversation.
Madix, a Flagler College theater graduate, originally moved to New York City with Broadway ambitions, bringing along her extensive dance background. Her journey led her to Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurants, eventually paving her way into the Bravo universe with a role on “Vanderpump Rules.”
Madix became a focal point of a major scandal and garnered widespread sympathy after it emerged that her boyfriend of nine years, Tom Sandoval, was having an affair with her best friend Raquel Leviss. Post-breakup, Madix leveraged her increased visibility to expand her career, venturing into entrepreneurship and pursuing more significant opportunities.
In July, she was announced as a celebrity contestant for season 32 of “Dancing With The Stars” (DWTS). Her polished performance skills and compelling, well-publicized personal story quickly established her as a top contender, eventually securing a third-place finish behind Xochitl and Jason Mraz.
Madix is set to star in “Chicago,” Broadway’s longest-running show, for an eight-week engagement at the Ambassador Theater in NYC. Her performances will begin on January 29, 2024, and conclude on March 24.
The 11th season of Vanderpump Rules is set to premiere on January 30, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo, offering weekly episodes with the option for next-day streaming on Peacock. The season’s trailer teases the ongoing drama of #Scandoval, particularly highlighting the continued cohabitation of exes Scandoval and Madix.
