‘RHOBH’ Star Annemarie Wiley Slams Dr. Nicole Martin After Being Called Out

Annemarie Wiley, a fellow anesthesia practitioner, expressed her disappointment over Dr. Nicole Martin’s public remarks regarding her assessment of Sutton Stracke’s medical issues.

Annemarie Wiley, 40, spoke about the incident involving Dr. Nicole, 38, on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast.

“I was really very hurt by Dr. Nicole doing that. As a colleague in anesthesia practice, she knows my training, she knows my skillset, she knows my knowledge base,” Annemarie said. She questioned why Dr. Nicole did not extend professional courtesy by reaching out to her for clarification.

Annemarie felt that Dr. Nicole’s defense of Sutton, 52, who has a strictured esophagus, seemed more like an attempt to seek attention than a genuine concern. “I actually reached out to her after I was told that she made a video and she didn’t respond to it, which shows me that this wasn’t so much about clarifying anything for anyone,” Wiley stated. She suggested that Dr. Nicole’s actions were more about gaining popularity through the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Dr. Nicole had previously criticized Annemarie’s comments about Sutton’s health in a video posted on Instagram. “It does not matter where you fall on the spectrum — all the way from being a tech to being a doctor. You joined the profession to be an advocate for patients, and as such, it is not our place to belittle, question or demean a patient’s symptoms or diagnosis,” Dr. Nicole said.

Annemarie had raised doubts about Sutton’s claim of having a narrow esophagus on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — commenting in a confessional, “After hearing about Sutton’s small esophagus, as a nurse anesthetist, I’m, like, what she’s saying as stated just doesn’t make sense.” During a group discussion, Wiley told Stracke, “If you have a stricture in your esophagus, all you do is chew your food more.”

Annemarie apologized to anyone offended by her remarks, acknowledging the seriousness of the topic and her role as a medical professional. She explained her curiosity was piqued after Kyle Richards mentioned Sutton’s eating habits, which Sutton attributed to her narrow esophagus.

Annemarie also noted the challenges of portraying the full context of such conflicts within the limited timeframe of a “Housewives” episode. She expressed disappointment that Dr. Nicole, whom she met at BravoCon 2023 and found nice and classy, chose to address the issue publicly rather than reaching out to her privately.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo, continuing to showcase the lives and conflicts of its cast members.
