Kelly Clarkson Claims MASSIVE Weight Loss Due to Diet and Exercise, Not Ozempic!
Kelly Clarkson is addressing her weight loss amid swirling speculation that she jumped on the Hollywood trend of using Ozempic to shed the pounds.
The pop star credited diet and exercise for her stunning weight loss in a new interview with People.
“I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — a couple years I didn’t,” the singer told the mag.
The 41-year-old added — ”“I eat a healthy mix. I dropped weight because I’ve been listening to my doctor — a couple years I didn’t. And 90% of the time I’m really good at it because a protein diet is good for me anyway. I’m a Texas girl, so I like meat — sorry, vegetarians in the world!”
Kelly, who shares two kids, daughter, River Rose, 9, and 7-year-old son, Remington, with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, noted that her move to New York City had boosted her weight loss journey. The recording artist relocated her talk show to Manhattan, last year.
“Walking in the city is quite the workout,” she declared.
“I was very unhappy in L.A. and had been for several years. I needed a fresh start,” she shared.
“The Voice” alum’s comments come amid lots of internet buzz claiming her success is likely due to controversial diabetes drug, Ozempic. The chatter began in November, after she showed off her slimmed down figure in an image of herself eating ice cream.
One fan wrote — “Her fans deserve to know the truth of her weight loss.”
Another asserted — “No way she lost that much weight that fast. Medication.”
A third agreed, writing — “She looks great, but it seems like she lost a lot of weight in like two weeks!”
Kelly denied the rumors and credited Dr. Steven R. Gundry’s “Plant Paradox Diet” for her trimmed down physique.
“I still splurge. The other night I had a frozen yogurt with my daughter, and it was magical,” the “Since U Been Gone” singer revealed.
Kelly’s chat show was recently nominated for for a Critics Choice Award for Best Talk Show.
“I was going through a really rough few years, and even in the first season it was rough behind closed doors,” she shared. “Just to be able to come into season 5 feeling good and knowing my kids feel good—and the dust has settled. Season 5 is my first season to actually enjoy every minute of it.”
Back in 2017, Kelly opened up about struggling with depression after landing at her lowest weight.
She told Attitude magazine— “When I was really skinny, I wanted to kill myself. I was miserable, like inside and out, for four years of my life. But no one cared, because aesthetically you make sense.”
“It was a very dark time for me. I thought the only way out was quitting. I, like, wrecked my knees and my feet because all I would do is put in headphones and run. I was at the gym all the time.”
Kelly’s new health routine comes after settling a contentious divorce from Blackstock in 2022, which followed a nasty custody war over their two children. The exes also battled over their shared Montana ranch.
