‘Sister Wives: One on One’ Janelle Brown Doubts Kody Will Welcome Another Wife After Finding His Soulmate, Robyn Brown

Janelle Brown is willing to bet that Kody Brown will never take another wife after finding the love of his life in his last partner standing, Robyn Brown.

“He’s now talking more and more about ‘as we move forward into monogamy’ [with Robyn],” Janelle says of her ex in a preview clip of Sunday’s Sister Wives: One on One special.

Janelle, 54, was spiritually married to Kody for almost 30 years before cutting ties with the TLC patriarch last year.

Janelle is not convinced that Kody would agree to inviting another wife into his marriage even if Robyn, 45, introduced him to a candidate.

“I’ll bet you $1,000 right now,” Janelle jokes with host, Sukanya Krishnan, in the clip. “If he does, I will give you $1,000. Because I just don’t think it’ll ever happen.”

The mom of six points out that Kody and Robyn are “very happy” in a monogamous relationship.

“They have found something together at this stage of their life that seems to be very deep,” she notes. “And I think it works. And that’s OK.”

Christine Brown, Kody’s third wife, announced that they were calling it quits in November 2021, after a 25-year spiritual marriage. The mom of six went on to find love again and tied the knot with now-husband, David Woolley, in October. Janelle followed in her footsteps a year later, in December 2022. Kody’s first wife, Meri, confirmed that they were officially parting ways after being married for 32 years, the following month.

Christine Brown

Christine, 51, agrees with Janelle when she expresses her own wish for  Kody and Robyn’s happiness.

“They deserve to be happy. Go be happy with each other, for goodness sakes, be happy with each other,” Christine says in the sneak peek, after noting that she didn’t believe that Robyn wanted a plural marriage. “Let the rest of us go. Stop being angry. And then we can all get along again. Once you let it go and stop being mad.”

Kody shades Christine’s claim that she understands Robyn’s thoughts, commenting — “I don’t think Christine knows Robyn at all. She’s never tried. She’s never been there. She was a sh**ty sister wife.”

He adds that Christine’s assertion that Robyn really wants monogamy is “just sour graping” on her part.

Kody Brown

Kody revealed that Robyn was the only wife that captured his heart, in a previous episode.

“I fell in love with Robyn, I never fell in love with anybody else,” Kody confessed. “I was just choosing to be in that covenant of love with them.”

Kody explained that his relationship with his fourth wife was “different” from the connections he shared with Meri, Janelle and Christine, because he approached the three marriages with another goal in mind.

“This isn’t about being like, ‘in love,’ this is about growing a family together, we love each other, we’re required,” the TLC star continued. “The gospel requires us to love each other, but I never really actually suffered in a fit a passion in this place.”

Sister Wives

The Sister Wives: One on One special concludes Sunday, at 10 pm ET, on TLC.
